I'm feeling nostalgic this morning 
I got the Gamecube version when I was twelve. My mom was like "This looks like the type of game you will be spending all your time on..." And she was right. I became interested in the game when people mentionned it would make a good game to wait until the release of Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life. I never ended up playing a Wonderful Life XD Animal Crossing was even better for me
It was a little boring back then because the only way to visit another town was to insert two memory cards in the same Gamecube. And even then, you couldn't play together, just visit the other town. You would send items to other player through the use of "codes". I remember at the beginning I would make mistake while typing the codes, my TV screen was so small, and people would get angry or think I would try to scam them. I ended up triple checking to make sure I hadn't made any mistake.
