What was the first model of DS you got?

The first ds I played was my brothers and it was the chunky og one in blue but the first one that was mine was a pink ds lite which according to my parents was hard to aquire at the time.

My first DS model was a DS Lite that I got so I could play Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver after a friend brought them to my attention. I'd played Red, Blue, Yellow, Silver, Gold and Crystal back when they were released, but then dropped the series due to peer pressure and "aging out" of it, but HGSS got me back in and I've been back with the series since.

I still own and occasionally use this same DS Lite to this day, though it's finally showing its age in that the top screen can get a little screwy if I open or close the device. As such, I just leave it sitting open. I'll probably need to get a replacement for it eventually. While I could just play the DS games on the 3DS, I like that the DS Lite has a Game Boy Advance cartridge slot and I also like to use the alarm clock on the DS Lite, so the DS Lite has its own unique niche functions such that I'd be interested in getting another one.

First DS model I got was the very first model itself back in Christmas, 2005. A blue/purple color to be exact. The model still looks innovative to me for some reason. Just looking at it takes me back to when I first got it along with Mario Kart DS and Nintendogs. Later got games like Animal Crossing Wild World and Pokemon Diamond. Good times.

The original silver DS and it still works. Although I don't play it very often now.

I got the pink DSLite but I don't really remember what year I got it but I feel like it was in 2007 or 2008. I really enjoyed it and it still is in pretty decent condition though I think I am missing the little pen that came with it.

I don't know if I either got it from somebody or accidentally stole it, but this crusty white DS lite from back in...probably 2014-2015.

I still have it too, and it's got a broken hinge. As well as a possibly faulty battery.

Just a plain white NDS Lite. As much as I wanted an NDS, we never saw a single Phat model on shelves.

I now own two different NDS Lites of varying shades of blue, one Teal and the other Cobalt. A frivolous impulse purchase during COVID, but I've always wanted a blue NDS

My first was a pink DS Lite, but I sold it to get some money off a red 3DS. I was so stupid falling for Gamestop's marketing scheme.

Mine was an original model silver DS. It was definitely hard to want to use that model again after I got the DS Lite.

When I was 10 I got a coral pink Lite for Christmas the year it released (2006). I’ve never really been a huge pink fan but as a kid I liked vibrant colours over black and white and so close to launch those three were the only options. It also doubled as my first ever game console period so it’s special to me. I still have it though I’ve had to repair various parts after years of wear and tear. Somehow the original battery still works great (though I do check it from time to time in case it starts to become a spicy pillow).

Red Nintendo 3DS! I played animal crossing endlessly with it for a few years until the charger port broke and sold it to get a black 3DS XL.

I never had a DS since my parents never let me have one but once I moved out I was able to get a 3DS! I got the pink 3DS XL and absolutely loved it. I previously only had a Gameboy Advance so going from a system that didn't light up and ran on batteries to the 3DS was such a nice change.

The original 2004 Phat DS, lol I had the Electric Blue color variation, and the first games I got for it were Nintendogs, Super Mario 64 DS and Tetris DS

I no longer have that original phat DS, but I do have a Lime Green DS Lite. I feel like the DSi was totally not worth it so I never got one, especially because it wasn't backwards compatible with GBA games.

I used to have the original 3DS model as well, that glossy one that was an absolute fingerprint magnet but I've since upgraded to a SNES version New Nintendo 3DS XL

The original silver DS. I got it for Christmas along with Super Mario 64 DS and Mr. Driller Drill Spirits. Did anyone else have Drill Spirits? I feel like I'm the only one lol.

I ended up getting mine pretty late (aka last summer), but my first (and only one if you don't count my white New 3DS LL) one was my black regular-size DSi! The battery lasts an age and a half, there have been multiple occasions where I played games on it for multiple hours in the car and only needed to charge it after, like, 2 of those trips... and even then, it only showed the battery was three quarters full! And yes, I know often battery life indicators tend to actually be at 50% when showing the 3/4 icon, but I still think that's pretty decent battery length.
When I received it I saw it had some pictures still left on it dating back to 2012, which is pretty crazy in my opinion. If the man (presumably the dad) and the girl featured in the pictures are out there somewhere, don't worry, I'm taking care of the DSi, I hope you guys are doing well!
