The first (and only) dish I've cooked by myself that wasn't, like, instant noodles or something, was rice pudding. The dish itself came out fairly okay, the only thing is that it wasn't very flavorful because I somehow read 1/4 cups of sugar as 1/4 of a teaspoon of sugar ??? but I poured some maple syrup on it afterwards and it was okay

Nice thinking on your feet! There's always a way to fix a dish, and if you make a big mistake, you can try going with it to see where it leads you. It's an exciting art and interesting science. I think more people should try cooking things from scratch. It's very rewarding.

I think the first time I cooked a meal on my own I was 3 years old. I don't remember it, but my parents said that I would often wake up before them and cook breakfast for everyone at a really young age ~

fried rice. it was a mess though, i spilled it everywhere throughout the cooking process. and i depended on cooking based on what ive seen my mom do. i wouldnt say it tasted bad, but i think it was a bit under cooked and could have used more sauces

i think probably cake or cupcakes. i don't remember how it turned out, probably terrible lol

Oh gosh. It was so long ago. I can barely remember what I ate for breakfast, let alone what I cooked (maybe) twenty or so years ago.

I remember the first thing i know how to cook was Japanese curry. Tbh it wasn't easy but I still did it. I remember it turned out ok. Not that great but still edible lolol.

I don't know if chocolate chip cookies count as a meal so I'll go with a very simple orange chicken over pasta. I remember it pretty well because I was in 8th grade and it was my first time being home completely by myself for the week; my mom was in the hospital and my dad was away on business. And as soon as I finished cooking it we got a tornado warning issued (super rare here in NJ) and I had to corral all 5 cats and the dog into the basement lol. Good times :')

I made omelets and grilled cheeses, but if that doesn't count then pizza with home made tomato sauce :D
