What villager do you share a bond with for special reasons?

I don't have one myself but I always love reading other people's stories. They could remind you of an old pet or family member or have stuck with you through every AC game! Reading these stories makes me unusually happy haha

Well, I'm super partial to Maple (not that I have her right now) because she was the FIRST villager I ever met in any game, in the very first AC game (well, first to be released in the U.S., I mean)

I also have a fun memory with Savannah! In City Folk, she was one of the first villagers I ran into. In that game, your birthday got set by a villager asking what it was, and she asked what mine was. I told her and she was like "OMG THAT'S MINE TOO LET'S HAVE A JOINT BIRTHDAY PARTY" and I remember thinking... that's weird. Each villager has a set birthday, it seems risky to have dialogue that they share a birthday if they DON'T.

...But, then I looked it up. Savannah and I TOTALLY do share a birthday. So, in case no one ever ran into the same thing, just know that Nintento totally prepared for that kind of scenario in CF

And then there's too many others to count that I just had for a long time and have memories with!

My special villagers are Bob and Diana, who are fairly popular but that's not the point
Diana was with me through the start of my FIRST animal crossing game (NL) and is still in it
The game and a 3ds were my birthday present which i got early

Bob moved in on my birthday and is ALSO still in my town

they bring good memories : )

Love the idea of this thread!! Personally, mine are Butch, Gabi and Maelle, purely for the fact that literally in every AC I've played since the Wild World they always seemed to randomly move into my town, and out of sentimentality and an aspect of nostalgia, I've really grown to love having them around. My luck with all that changed in NH however and haven't managed to see any of them on my island hopping ventures yet! It's funny because I've never had a dog, even though I've always wanted one, but Butch always seems to turn up and fill that hole in my life haha- it's also got a bit to do with him being so sweet despite his cranky face!

Gabi on the other hand is super cute and is ingrained in my memory for her freckles, being so funny and being my next door neighbour :3
Maelle was always so sassy and I loved it haha <3

goldie, chèvre, kiki and walker! They were there since wild world days so I will always have a special bond with those characters. Brings back so many memories just seeing them on my island! I love it!

Mine is Kitty. New Leaf was my first AC game and when I was going down the list of villagers, she stood out the most. I got lucky and she showed up in my campsite shortly after. I don’t really have any specific stories or moments but she’s always happy to chat and just cheers me up when I interact with her.
Before NH came out, I couldn’t find any concrete proof that she was in the game and I have to admit I was actually a little bummed out.

It blows my mind that she isn’t considered popular, but on the other hand, it makes her a little more special because she’s so uncommon.

Tangy has been my favourite villager since Wild World, she was the first villager I ever befriended and I instantly loved her due to her sunny personality and cute design (plus I’ve always loved cats). In both City Folk and New Leaf she was a starting villager for me and when she finally came to my New Horizons island I was so happy as it felt like she was coming home. She always cheers me up and makes me smile and she will always be my favourite villager! she also said this to me recently which made me extremely emotional as I’m struggling with illness related hair loss and it’s like she knew what I needed to hear ;-;

Hans always felt like a good friend to me in New Leaf, he moved right next to my house so he was always the first villager I saw when I opened the game, he's great! I've got him now in New Horizons as well, it would feel wrong not to have him

Snake, he hypes me upp!! \^o^/ I lost it when I saw his back as we entered my new island on nh :') Eventually I would like to play older game than nl. But I'm scared to with the chances of having him with me. And it is not like I can get him like nh or even nl. I heard the villagers are meaner in old games and tbh that would be great to see Snake that way xD No Snake= not an Animal Crossing gameeee

Definitely Lobo. In the original game the crankies used to be so very cranky and I was extremely happy when he finally warmed up to me that I eventually considered him as my "best friend". Bob is another candidate, he was in my GameCube town as well and I remember that his catchphrase always cracked me up because it seemed so funny and fitting.

Hopper is also great, mostly because my significant other always struggled to remember his name, so whenever I walked past Hopper I'd ask: "What's his name?" only to hear some desperate gibberish that started with "Uh, um, uhhh... Popper! ... Ehhh, Hopper!" xD
Edit: I just tried it again. "What's the penguin's name in Animal Crossing?" Still works like a charm, hahaha!

Wolfgang, because he's like an animated version of my beloved german shepherd who passed away many years ago, and I've had Wolfgang in every town and game since Wild World, 2005, because it's like having a part of my dog with me, always.

Marshal. I wasn't playing New Leaf online at the time so I just had this marshmallow move in one day and he kind of grew on me. It was different getting him here now, but it's all the same, he remain my number 1 villager in the series.
Number 1 NPC would be Brewster. I loved working in his cafe and I just enjoy his unique personality.

Flurry is just my over all favorite. My first animal crossing game is in New Leaf I just chose her from the list of villagers because I thought she was the most adorable thing. She's small and a chub chub white hamster so I tried adopting her from one of the giveaway threads when people cycled a bunch of villagers. I can never play NL without greeting her everyday sometimes when I see her I literally just watch her and I end up being really happy about it. When I got my island on New Horizons, I knew I definitely wanted her there. Imagine my surprise when I went on just one random island tour to fill up the 7th plot I just opened up and found her there. I screamed lol

beau! he was my absolute favourite even before new leaf was released in NA and i’ve loved him for so long. while i’m no longer as obsessed with him as i was when i was 11, i still adore him and he’s still one of my favourite villagers of all time <3

an honourable mention is tangy; she was the first ever villager i met in my first ever wild world town and while she’s not one of my favourites, she still has a piece of my heart and is very special to me for this reason c’:

Though I haven't had her in any of my towns since, I have a real soft spot for Gwen, the snooty penguin.

I'll honestly never forget when I was playing Wild World as a kid and she suddenly decided to give me a nickname. I didn't even know that was a thing and Gwen and all the other villagers kinda intimidated me... Back then most of them were so mean lol

She nicknamed me 'gorgeous', cause my name started with a G, and I was so flattered! It was one of those 'wait you actually like me?' moments.

Since then she's the villager I have the strongest memories of, especially of how cool her house was, and she holds a special place in my heart

I like Tangy. I had her in NL and while I still like her, once I really noticed the "holes" in her face, I just felt super creeped out. I try to avoid really looking at her for too long.
