What to do with extra space?

So I have a chunk of space in my town (say approximately 10x10) that I don't know what to do with. What have you guys done with big spaces like this PWP-wise? I'll probably need more than one PWP but I'm hoping to have some kind of cohesive thing going on with them. Maybe a sculpture garden or something? I like zen gardens but I don't think it will fit in my town since it's winter themed. Any ideas?

If you or someone you know has a similar space that's been completed I'd love to see a DA!

I had a decent sized space between a couple of trees. I didn't really plan to do anything with it. It ended up turning into a field of flowers. I put the flower clock in the middle of it and it looks pretty awesome.

I have quite a large open space in my town right now (where a villager used to live) & I've just turned it into a park-ish area with a wisteria trellis. I've also been able to fill up large spaces with other residents as I think having more than just your house in a town looks quite nice. （*?▽｀*）

I had a big spot in the middle of my town that was empty, so I put a park there ^-^

I made a rainbow tulip garden and I put the tulip topiary in the middle and then I surrounded it with some bushes (leaving a entrance and a exit of course). It looked pretty cute and kawaii which goes good with my town.
