What species can you not stand?

well gorillas obviously like everyone else has said but also BEARS
like bears not bear cubs

they rarely look good to me and I can't even really put my finger on why. just wouldn't want one in my town and I'm pretty sure that's why literally no one likes Megan. if there were a purple cat, wolf or even bear cub with blue freckles and blue toe beans I can guarantee she'd be loved but alas, she's a gross bulky bear lol

also @ mice people, I think mice could have potential if most of the designs weren't so gotdamn gross. like lichrally who approved rizzo and limberg

I think gorillas, hippos and female kangaroos. I don't like the gorilla model, I think hippos don't have designs in general appealing to me (even though I like the model and my boy Biff), and I find the kangaroo's joey creepy. It feels like some kind of puppet, and while I'm guessing they wanted to put them to signal that those kangaroos are female.... I don't think it's necessary. Just give it one of the female personalities and boom, that's a female, I don't need that... imitating puppet they have there

Cats.

There are no good cats in my opinion and not many that are just "okay" but quite a few that I actively hate the designs of--the rest fall in between "hate" and "meh". (The "just okay" ones to me are Kid Cat, Stinky, Rosie, Tom, Raymond (and he's really just meh, I wish he didn't have the heterochromia), and maybe Tangy.)

Katie is the only cat I would die for but she's an NPC and so far not in NH.

The kangaroos.
Something about the model is just... off.
Maybe it's the bottom-heavy design. In particular for the females. They look way too chubby for my taste. Also, the snout is to big. Kangaroos are supposed to be athletic...
The males are fine, though. Sadly, there are only two.

Tbh I can tolerate a lot of species and so I think I have at least one Villager from every species I like, but if I would choose one it would be hippos. Biff isn’t even enough for me to like any of them. I don’t know what it is with the Hippos, but they just don’t look right somehow.

@Sloom I don’t think Rizzo is that bad, when you know he’s based on an actual thief. But yeah. It doesn’t help that the heads are literally Eggs. The Ears are fine for me. I think if the Mice would be made super realistically, like picture below, they would have turned out better.

But in a Game full of Chibi Characters they tend to look a little bit weird. But hey, can’t change what already happened.

Gorilla and hippos are terrible, but frogs are the bane of my existence in animal crossing.
Frogs are the worst. No offence to people who love frogs.

Kangaroo’s. I would have prefered the separate joey’s or baby kangaroo’s from the female. The head’s are basically the same and the baby is just... there. Imagine being able to talk to the mom and the baby. That would be cute plus it would give the kangaroo’s an upperhand to other species by having a special feature with 2 villagers in one.

Hippos are just... blegh. Mice are pretty bad too which is a shame because the mice have the potential to be adorable, but their proportions and designs are just so... off.

I am not fond of bears. Which is crazy because real life bears are one of my favorite animals(I do love the cubs In ac). Chow is one of the most unsettling villagers in ac. That being said I feel like there are some exceptions like Pinky and Teddy that are kinda cute, and Beardo is very sophisticated.
I don’t care for mice over much either, but I think there are some individual cuties like Bettina, Bella, Broccolo, Cheddar, and Rod.

Like almost everyone else, I can't stand the Gorillas. There is not ONE I even like a little bit. The female Kangaroos and their Joey's that mimic everything the mother does are creepy as well.

Anteaters. I cannot stand them. Plus they're common in Central America (where I'm from) and they're dangerous.

My least favorite species is the kangaroos. The female kangaroos are the worst of all. I just think the way they have the joey constantly there that they completely ignore is creepy. You'd figure a mom would be talking about her baby.

ITS SO CREEPY. i had sylvia as a starter and she legitimately terrified me.

i dont understand the desire to give them joeys and not have them interactable, mention them or anything. stinks highly of some weird heteronormative design, tbh !!
