What old villagers did you want to see return?

The only one I really wanted was Roswell and he's coming back! I wonder why they happened to have picked him for some reason over the others. But I'm not complaining, can't wait to have him on my island!

My number one desired villager to return was Pigleg because of his pirate design. I'd love to have him on my island and he would've made a great neighbor for Vic.

I would've liked to have seen Pierre come back since, unlike a lot of people, I actually like the clown aesthetic. As such I like Pietro, Pierre, and Marcel (granted, Marcel is more of a mime). That said, I'm not missing out too much on him not returning now, because if he was going to return, I would've wanted him to have done so in New Leaf's Welcome Amiibo update all those years ago. One of my New Leaf towns is a circus and magic show-themed town, so he would've been a wonderful addition to the villager roster.

Aziz and Quetzal are two villagers whose designs I've always liked since I saw them in the Animal Crossing guide book back in 2002. I never had either of them back then and either or both of them could fit on my island. Alas.

Bow and Meow were cool and I think they could have the potential for cool facial reactions if they came back since their faces are display screens, but I tend to agree with the people that have said that they were always unlikely to return since they were based on an outdated pieces of techology that were only ever sold in Japan back in 2002.

I also like Leigh and thought Woolio was neat with his sunglasses and star facepaint.


While none of those came to pass, I'm really glad to see Rio come back. I really like her.

Megumi the dog is the one I wanted the most based on design and species alone.

Maybe she’ll be added into series 6 in 5 years when it come out or hopefully sooner if series 5 sells really well.

I'm super happy with the update overall, but I would have loved to see Meow and Bow back. I don't really love any of the new villagers — I tend to go for plain or cutesy ones, and I think these are a little ugly (oop). Petri's design is pretty creative through. I do really like the special characters — I wanna know how Wardell and Wendell are related. I think they're gonna be brothers, or maybe cousins.

I can't believe ribbot is getting an octopus buddy. Cephalobot is hilarious.

I was surprised they didn't do 100 cards considering Series 1-4 all had 100, and they filled half of Series 5 with special characters, most of which we already have; I thought/hoped there was a decent chance of getting most of the cut villagers back this time.

The main one I was hoping for that we didn't get was Kit, followed by Aisle, Tarou, Cupcake, Petunia the cow, Dozer, Patricia, Lulu the anteater, Elina, Megumi, Carmen, and Belle. I'm happy we got Azalea, Rio, and Zoe, though, and Frett and Chabwick seem a lot more appealing to me now than they did before!

i’m quite happy with the new and returning villagers that we’re getting, but i was really hoping to see sunny and bow return. they’re two of my all-time favourite villagers, and while i understand that bow’s return is/was unlikely, i thought for sure that sunny would be a shoo-in based off of how popular she is. oh well, maybe one day.

i also would’ve loved to see lulu, koharu, carrot, meow, tarou, carmen (mouse), patricia, pierre, tiara and poko return, but i’m happy with the ones that we are getting, especially ace, petunia (azalea) and pironkon (roswell)!

Aziz. Gone, but not forgotten. I imagine he actually hit the big leagues and is now a famous athlete now. Small town life is far beyond him. Godspeed, you were like an older brother to my very first villager.

Ace was the one I really wanted. I was heartbroken every time he didn't return. So finally getting him back was amazing! =D

Aziz is still my number one villager I want to see return since I had him in my gamecube village.

Other than him I think I'd most like to see: Woolio, Carrot, Tarou, Hambo, Fruity, Nosegay, Sunny, Analogue, Leigh.

I kinda wonder if Leigh hasn't returned because her design takes influence from native americans? Even so I feel like they could tweak her design a little.....if nothing else it feels like a wasted opportunity to not have a chicken called Leigh.

Also, I've noticed a lot of people seem to have negative memories of Sue E....which makes me want to see her return as well. Getting that strong a reaction from people has to count for something.

Most of them I haven't had in my town before, I just think their designs look cool. I'd be happy to see all of them return though, even the ones that don't make all that much sense. (like the old promotional ones)

Honestly I was banking on all of them except for the collab ones (Bow, Meow, Nindori) coming back, so it's at least nice to see some return. Of the ones that are coming, I really do like Roswell.

I'm hoping that maybe they're just rationing them out so they can have a few more "look who's back!" moments in the future.

At first, I was slightly surprised that some fan-favourites such as Tarou and Woolio didn't make it back in, but now I'm thinking it's because of Audie and Dom. I've noticed that of all the villagers in Series 5, there's no repeating species!

No shade on Ace (his design is cool), but the plain birds are one of my favourite species in Animal Crossing, and there's several I would have preferred over him. Flash, Joe, Madam Rosa, Otis....but then, I'm speaking from personal experience with them. I never met Ace back then, perhaps I'd be more excited for him if I had GCN-era memories of him??
(At least I'm getting my purple bird fulfillment out of Quinn, who I'm excited for! )

But on the upside, I'm very very excited about Rio's return, as she's one of my absolute old favourites from the Gamecube era! I flat-out screamed her name when she appeared in the direct
