I'm in the 1/1 challenge and I don't know what to do with my town! I need something to work towards, like a theme.

Help!

I've always wanted to try and make a whole road system with designs and street lamps with benches here and there.

I don't know, it may seem lame or generic but it would take me some time to do it.

I'm also doing the 1/1 Challenge! I'm going for a dark, mysterious time - possibly night-time themed. I'm going to use darker house exteriors, and dark hybrids such as purple and black - maybe with some pink in there too. Not sure how I'm going to execute this yet.

Your best bet - if you don't know what to do - is gather up bells and start the preparation needed to start landscaping and such. Start by paying off your mortgages (farming at the island at night is the easiest way to gain money to do so) and deforesting your entire town (maybe keep some trees for money-making). From there, set down random patters for where your path will go and perhaps some for PWP's. By putting patterns down villagers - as of the Amiibo update - will not move into a space with a pattern on it, so those spaces are completely safe. In the very beginning you should also work towards the little things like your development permit, getting all the fruit types, and unlocking the different shops and the island.

I hope this helped!

Me too! But for sure you'd need multiple characters for all of those paths. I think it looks really neat when it's all industrial and stuff though, and with the update I'm stoked that you can kind of "zone" where they'll plot if you lay paths so you could make a dedicated neighborhood for them.

I wasn't aware of that feature in the update, that sounds like it genuinely helps though. I wish that was the case with the patterns before every villager that has moved in got directly in the way.

you could make an all-one-species town, a colour themed town, a town based off of one of your facourite shows/movies, a realistic themed town (with roads and stuff), etc
