What kind of themed islands do you predict will be popular in the Dream Suite?

i expect cottagecore, these japanese themed islands and also horror themed towns for the most part! and also islands with a lot of pink too! maybe fairycore as well but i'm not sure how popular this theme actually is compared to the others.

I think it will be the island themes that are already popular now, plus more 'interactive' islands. Stuff like maze/obstacle course islands and storytelling islands (whether horror or otherwise).

The nice thing about the Dream Suite (at least if will work the same way as it did in New Leaf) is that you can set up your island in a certain way to upload it and change the island back to the way you want afterwards. No need to have a huge obstacle course blocking half your island all the time if that's something you don't want!

I would be interested in seeing whether any foreign trends from Dream Suite islands will end up influencing English-speaking AC:NH trends. I know that images and such can still be shared over social media even if they're in a different language, but I would imagine that only a few foreign-language posts would make it into English-language forums and such. Like, are the trends that are popular within the Japanese New Horizons community similar as the ones we see on this forum, for example?

fascinating really! I am curious too about the foreign trends! Any Japanese speaker that lurks the Japanese forums to give us some insight if what are the trends over there? :D

I want to random visit lots of islands. I would love a more general idea of what people go for while at the same time be completely surprised.

What I’d like to see IMO is a pure (or as close to pure) wilderness. I don’t mean leaving it like the original island tho. I want more plants, more flowers, and a bit of a rugged look overall. If I go with my plans imma do that with my island.

I predict the current popular islands will be popular in the dream suite, but I honestly can't wait for dream suite, it's so exciting! My personal favourites were more "out there" designs like horror themes, etc.

I will probably spend hours each day dream suiting to other islands!

Cherry blossom / Japanese style islands (both rural and city ones), anime islands, horror islands, cottage core / nature islands

cottagecore and japanese islands, definitely - those are the two themes that i see the most of aha

horror themed islands, maze themed, zen style islands, and definitely cottagecore and fairycore islands! Probably islands whose themes are also based off on other popular games (BOTW for one) and Disney ones too.

Forest, Japanese (suburb), the ones that have cherry blossoms, "I've seen this before" and forever WIP islands.

One thing I notice a lot of as I fly over islands to trade is waterfalls that have no source and no river or pond to run into - the're just a wall of running water that just appears and then disappears!

It seems that's a thing on a fair few islands.

Forgot to mention that I've always been curious and I can't wait to see those rustic-themed, woodsy type of islands. I've been thinking of making a spot in my island that looks simple and basic with just trees, weeds, flowers all over the place and oh, probably also with leaf piles. There's something calming about them. Wish I could see screenshots, but going to the actual island via dream is probably better.

Lots of islands that are teraformed to have the map look like something - like a face or symbol.

Although I wonder if there will be less aggressively themed islands than NL because people could get a second cart for NL - they could have the island to actually play on, and the island that is THEMED. But now you need multiple switches to have a spare island...

I'm really excited for the horror islands! Or any kind of island with some kind of interactive/story aspect. I'm not too keen on giant mazes just because I don't like feeling too trapped or restricted, but that's also a pretty interesting idea.

A lot of seasonal themed islands, especially with all of the seasonal events and sets we have and will be seeing. At least one really popular mermaid one with all the different shell and mermaid stuff.
Iirc, did the NL dream suite lock the layout of the town to the season you uploaded it, or did it change? Like if you upload on a day with snow on the ground, would your dream town always be snowy?
