What job(s) have you had?

I've only had one job. As a "cleaner". I couldn't find a better word xD It's "lokalv?rdare" in swedish and when I looked for a translation all I found was "household technician". Is that really what it's called in english? xD Anyway. I worked for ISS Facility Service for three long years. They had to let me (and a lot of other people) go a few weeks ago because they recently lost a really important client. I didn't care much really. Honestly I hated the job .___. But I'm happy I at least found one. Also I met my boyfriend there :3 Now in a few weeks I will study at university and then hopefully I will find a better job :3

I think the term is usually housekeeping or janitor, but most places use housekeeping now.

My first job was working at K-Mart. My current job is merchandising... <.<

Past: Korean linguist in the Air Force and I worked at Macy's around Christmas one year. Now I am doing a research internship at the EPA.

I've worked many retail mall jobs; Aeropostale, American Eagle, Bath & Body Works, and Express was where I stayed longest.
After I realized retail hours can't pay the bills, I then got a job as a Server at Olive Garden for 4 years. Worst job ever, but great money.
After that I worked for an office doing Administrative work. Amazing money, but the 9-5 life isn't for me.

I now work as a freelance makeup artist. Mostly do weddings, but I like to take photo shoot jobs on the side.
Great money, new schedules+places every day, and I am my own boss. Very happy doing what I do!

I'd love to see some of your makeup work! :D

Currently working at a fruit stand near my house. Maybe I'll change jobs soon, the vet's office is hiring and seemed interested in having someone who can handle/restrain animals...

Currently sell cell phones, but about to get a second job as a teaching assistant at my university. On top of that, still gonna be a full time student in the fall.

RIP: My Free Time

My favorite job I've had so far is actually dealing blackjack at casino parties. It pays really well and it's pretty fun to entertain and partake in banter while constantly moving your hands.

I worked at Kmart once.. It was awful from my experience. The computers were always crashing or lagging, and it was confusing how the order of coupons was like if you didn't scan a coupon right away, you have to redo the entire transaction if you pressed pay now or whatever.. Sometimes customers wouldn't show me their coupon until after everything was scanned. And they pressured you to try and get customers to open up sears credit card accounts and if you didn't get enough people to sign up they call you in for a meeting and lecture you blah blah. And if someone paid with a check it was really confusing. I hated it and they didn't give me a flexible schedule. Once they didn't update the system and nobody could scan prices as the new sale price so customers would get mad that it wasn't showing as the sale price, so I had to call the manager over every 2 seconds to override the transaction because they wont tell me the code. (only the manager knows the code to override prices). And sometimes customers would change their mind that they don't want some items and I have to void it out. well you can only void like 2 or 3 items, and if its anymore than that, you need to call over the manager again to void the entire thing. Keeping customers waiting alot clearly made me anxious. I would never want to work there ever again.

that aside ;-; I worked an office job that I really enjoyed but the people stopped calling me back I guess. All you did was manage online ebay and amazon orders and print packing slips and shipping labels. It involves some weird program too, that was kind of confusing to use but I got the hang of it. I'm currently a college student and going to do a work from home job because ive had no luck with a tolerable temporary job.

i did volunteer work back in the summer of 2010 at the hospital in women's imaging. i guess that was my first "job" even if i didn't get paid for it. all i did was check patients in, help them out in the changing rooms if needed, and guide them on what to do and where to go. sometimes i did stuff like mailing out letters and laundry.

my first PAYING job is the one i'm at now. i work with my mom at a trucking company and i help out with payroll and other accounting stuff.

I've only had two jobs.

My first job was working at a grocery store at the salad bar. I had to prepare salads and fruit/veggie trays. It was easy but overtime it got too much for me because my coworkers all liked to start drama and my boss didn't give me enough time in my shifts to complete all the work he wanted. I also was getting 6am shifts that messed up my sleeping schedule for school so I ended up quitting.

My second (and current) job is much better. I love all my coworkers and the job is nice too! My job is to hand out food samples to people. I get to cook and prepare some food and products to advertise the brand and feed hungry people. I work in a grocery store that can get quiet at times which is truly the only downfall to this job. Otherwise I really enjoy it!

My first job that I still have now and have had for 4-5 months is a Sales Floor Employee at Target. It's interesting, and good, honest work, and I enjoy it too. ^^ I also get paid 9.00$ an hour, which is a plus. :)

Currently I work at a grocery store in a Starbucks kiosk. It's alright, it was more fun and exciting when I first started though. Before that I was working in the deli. And before that, Arbys, which was terrible, never ever working at a fast food place again.

I've been working at Kroger since November. I was a Courtesy Clerk (bagger/cart pusher/custodian/the entire store's b****), and I moved to Produce in May. I really enjoy most of the Produce department (Free food, yeah!), but my hours have been cut drastically (26 per week versus about 36 I was getting a couple months), and I've been working 8.5 hour shifts by myself the whole time, and it's extremely stressful and frustrating. I've probably spent the last 80 hours of working with maybe a total of 5 hours with another person working with me in the department. I got a $0.10 raise to move up to Produce (only making $7.45 an hour), and I'm honestly not sure why I haven't quit and gotten a job at Taco Bell. At least they start at $8 an hour, and I guarantee their employees don't even have to deal with half of the crap that I do. It's definitely better than doing everything someone tells you to do, but I'm going to move back up to the Front End (Customer Service, Cashiers, Courtesy Clerks) as a Floor Supervisor. That pretty much means I make sure that Courtesy Clerks do their chores (bathrooms, cart pushing, store sweeps, getting supplies) and also keep track of giving everyone his or her breaks. Floor supervisors also often open up a register when it gets backed up, assist at the Customer Service desk, and operate Self-Checkout. Beats being separated from the outside world for 8 hours at a time.

I volunteer at the local animal shelter and cook meals for the homeless with Family Promise on a regular basis. Obviously not a "job" though.

I work at Kroger also, and the pay sucks, and so do the $0.10 raises. Started at $7.55 and only getting paid $7.75 right now and I've been there almost a year. I need a new job lol
