I plot reset because I put a lot of effort into my town and it just gets wasted if villagers move in wherever. I like having straight paths in my town and it would suck if I were forced to have my paths go around one of my dreamies homes because it is ugly and inconvenient that way. I'm not one of those people who tries to get villagers in the exact 3 x 3 space, but I do think it is worth the time to somewhat control where my villagers move in. Getting the rack of rice PWP early certainly helps because it is cheap to build it in the spots where you do not want villagers moving in.
I always plot reset because I'm very particular about my town layout.
My first town is already very developed, so I don't want any new villagers destroying all my hard work, ahaha! I'm quite fond of the way I've set up my paths and I don't want to do any rearranging if I can help it.
And in my second town, I really want to make a nice little neighbourhood of villagers arranged in even rows, so that will take a lot of patience while plot resetting!
It's a pain, especially when villagers stubbornly refuse to set up in a nice space (Zell took me a month to get into a decent spot, not even the one I wanted), but I think it's worth it in the end.
I find plot resetting to be stressful, but I do it. I've put in too much time and effort in my towns to have a villager move in a bad spot and crush things, get in the way, etc. I hate that the game made it so you can't just pick a plot, but it can't be helped.
I'm usually pretty flexible in that there are several places I'm fine with a villager landing, but I just finished plotting Ankha and that was painful >_< I wanted her next to Lucky and it took many many many tries.
I always plot reset. It's better than having a villager ruin my main path or hybrid gardens or plot real close to the river where bridge has to be replaced.. In my old town I did not know about plot reset so some of my villagers houses were in a pretty spot and I hated it .__. I even had to kick out a villager so I could replace a bridge. I learned this lesson in a hard way so I always plot reset. I have all my dreamies now and I plot resetted for everyone xD
I plot reset, but not the hardcore type of plot resetting where in I'll spend days on it, for a veryspecific spot (like, "oh I'll reset again since the plot was just one block away from where I wanted")
I do it mainly because I have lots of hybrids and stuff on the ground that I don't want to get squashed lol that's it really
I usually plot reset because theres certain places I dont want my villagers to move to because I want to do something with that area later, or I dont want them to move too close to Retail, the town hall, ect.
I plot reset, but am malleable with places, even though I usually have a set 3x3 spot, I give myself a bit of wiggle room or even other options in the map. It makes things a lot easier, and sometimes it looks more natural (-:
I never have up to now - as others have said its just too much work. The time I have available, I just want to get on and play.
I've been lucky & managed to work around awkward ones.
I've protected areas with demolishable PWP - that has kept some areas free.
I plot reset, but not for super specific places. Just to make sure they don't go in places where I don't want them. So they have a certain degree of freedom, and I spare myself the frustration of getting them into an exact spot.
I plot reset but I'm not too much of a perfectionist. Just so that they don't build right next to the town hall or in front of the Mayor's house.
I tried to put all of the houses towards the southern end of the town but I screwed up O'Hare's plot and I intentially set Chadder's plot next to O'Hare's so oh well.
I used to never plot reset but after two random unexpected move ins decided it'd be a good idea to plot right in front of my town hall and in the middle of my paths i've learned my lesson XD I only plot reset when I know a villager is going to move in tho cuz I cant really know when an unexpected is going to move in...
I plot reseted yesterday for the second time and it took me the whole day. I wanted Deirdre to move over one space, but she wouldn't so I finally agree'd to keep her there. .~.
