I'm all for it, honestly. (Especially because I do it). I plot reset more in my second town than my first, but mostly because in my first town I got a lot of dreamies and villagers I liked before I knew how to do it, and I don't want to move any of them out and cycle just to get them back. So I use my second town to plot reset on and I'm trying to get certain rows. It's a HUGE pain and way too time consuming but once I'm done with it I'll feel better.
When I don't plot reset I get angry. When I do plot reset I get angry, but at least that anger fades once I get back to being productive... The anger I feel toward villagers who place their homes poorly has ruined how I feel about a number of otherwise awesome villagers and that just isn't fair to the poor little pixels... I had Savannah ruin a beautiful throughway in my town and I basically shut her out, never fixed the path just kind of walled her off and avoided her area with my landscaping til she finally left. I tried for a while to build around their whims but it got to be too much stress. I'd rather reset for a location that fits the town rather than try to adjust when they slap their homes all up in an awkward spot. We have all been happier...
Next time someone moves out and a newbie comes in, I'm going to reset them, definitely. It'll take ages and I'll be frustrated with it while i'm working on it, but when I finally get them into a spot that won't interfere with the PWPs and landscaping I have planned, then it'll all be worth it
I haven't reset all of my villagers, though, and to be honest I kind of regret that. Some of them are dotted randomly around the map while others are pretty much next door to each other. But it's causing me to try and get creative when it comes to how to do my pathways without making them look all zigzaggy and stupid, so I'm trying to look at it that way...
Interesting thread, as I just recently discovered his, and I would recommend plot resetting to anyone with anything from a few simple flower gardens to a town covered in patterns. I think it is an absolutely necessary exploit. With the freedom now to move anywhere you want, comes the negative side effect of villagers moving anywhere as well.
If it hasn't already be said, this is ideal for the tent villagers. Once you've properly obtained the villager you want from a tent, you can play around with this on the day of their move-in. It does require patience, but once you get a feel for the control you have and how much stress it removes knowing you can save your paths, you'll enjoy it more.
I haven't plot reset for real yet, but I'm expecting a random move-in any day now, so I'm starting my days off with a new char, etc. I don't think I'm going to be too picky when someone does move in though- I don't have the patience for that. The first spot I see that's nearby another villager's house, isn't on a path or a planned PWP location, and doesn't block anything major, and I'm good.
Ever since i have come to know that we can reset our new move in villagers location i have been doing it...it irritates the crap out of me listening to Rover again n again but its totally worth it...i just wish i had known this trick earlier on..:-( for town resetting i havent done that yet...i wish i could but i currently have 9 out of 10 dreamies and i dont want to loose them so no i wont be doing it( the river in my town sucks though)
i've tried to do it.
i've tried so many times but i always mess it up somehow.. so my town is a gross mess.
poor whitney is allllll alone at the top of my town. ugh. someone teach me the correct way. haha
