What is the point of having a bell tree?

If you plant 99.000 bells, after a few days you'll get three bellbags of 30.000 bells. if I remember correctly. Only once!

I honestly don't see the point of having a bell tree.

I think it?s a nice decoration for a town and for bragging rights, but I don?t have any bell trees because my town theme is more natural.

I remember in my CF town, I used for decoration at the back side of my house. I made sure nobody shook it. So it can be used for decoration.

I got one on accident since I was planting 1k bell bags for normal trees around my town
and that 1% chance just fittingly enough happened to grow into a bell tree in front of Re-Tail.

Bell trees look nice, but I prefer not to have any because a lot of people have come to my town, and eventually someone would shake it o.o

They're also a sign of wealth and status

there's no other reason because it doesn't even look pretty as a decoration

I guess for bragging/decorations but I personally don't think you profit much from them since the spawn rate isn't high and everything you plant over 90k is a loss if it does work and they are more for aesthetics but I don't like how they look. I think it looks tacky, for a fairytale themed town maybe it would work.

That is a bad gamble because if you plant 3 30,000 bell bags, you have a 34% chance of not getting any bell trees, a 44% chance of getting 1 bell tree just to break even, a 19% chance of getting 2 bell trees, and a 3% chance of getting all 3 to produce bells. The only purposes of bell trees which I can think of are that some people might like how they look and if you bury 1,000 bell bags instead of regular saplings to make regular trees, you have a chance, albeit a really slim chance, of getting some unexpected bells.

Having a field full of totem poles is a better way to show other people that you have so much money you don't even care about it.
