What is the meaning behind your town's name?

Haunton: My main, horror-themed town. It's a combination of the word haunting and -ton, an older alternative for town used in such names as Boston, Houston, Northampton, Washington, and so on. It might not be among the best and most original names out there, but I liked it well enough to use and couldn't think of anything else at the time that I would like with consideration to the terribly small character limit in these games.

Mesmeri: My hybrid circus/magic show-themed town. It's pretty obviously just based on the word mesmerize or mesmerizing but cut a few letters short. The reason I chose this was because I thought, considering it's based on a circus and a magic show, which are both forms of entertainment, the town would need something with a mystical sort of air to it that catches the attention. The shows the town would put on would be so entertaining that the audience can't look away because they want to see what they'll do next, as if mesmerized. I like this one more than the others I've made.

I have two other towns, one an all-bird town and the other just a generic town, but those just have names taken from other games so there's nothing to really say about them.

Bunifrey. It's a mashup of Gallifrey, and Bun Bun. It's a memorial town for my sweet Princess Bun Bun McCloud and it's easily my favorite AC town I've ever made.

My town's name is Sakura, which means cherry blossom in Japanese. Cherry blossoms are known for being beautiful but lasting only a very short time. They fall during the peak of their beauty rather than wilting. They symbolize how brief but beautiful life can be.

i hyperfixated on okegom games when i restarted it back in 2016 and jabberwock wouldn't fit

Koholint is an island in an early Legend of Zelda game that has a village of talking animals. I like the LoZ franchise but didn't want to name my town Hyrule (a lot of those out there)

Love Link's Awakening!

I have two towns, Whittown and Beantown. One is based on my name, the other based on where I live--Boston's nickname Beantown!

But I'm a Yankees fan, since I'm a transplant, so the flag is a red bean in a circle, surrounded by blue and white pinstripes. (Boo, Sox.) ;)

I have Crisp! It reminds me of the feeling when you know it's about to be fall and the air is super crisp and just starting to get cold :)

My town is named Moongate. When I started to think of ideas for my town name, that was the one I narrowed it down to. Mostly because I love the moon! I felt that it would stick with me and I would still like it in a few years, unlike some of my past town names.

kitville! i always use it for my acnl towns. i just like it, it seems really fun and cute!

Mineola - name of my first Animal Crossing town. That is the name I use for all of my towns.

Chococat - I couldn't think of a name, so I just decided to go with Chococat after the Sanrio character.

I had 4 main towns until now, and almost all had sweets names. One was called Caramel. It was my first new leaf town. I really didn’t call it that way cause I wanted to follow some theme, but just cause I liked it or. But in the end I decided to make it a dessert kind of town, road had a pattern that resembled puddings, cake slices, and pastry. At the end it was too messy though. So I restarted! Then I created Biscotti, and that was a great beautiful town! Once again, I wanted it to have a sweet feel. Road were cookies but different from my old Caramel. I really loved Biscotti. After that I created a town called Nothing.
There was really no reason for that name other than the fact that I had nothing in mind as a theme xD
Last and current town: Gelato. The town has pears and both colors of train station and town hall are brown like chocolate. Still, a town that is devoted to desserts and sweets! Yea I love that stuff xD so this town is super colorful like an ice cream, Gelato! I put some combination of flowers that together remind me of my favorite ice cream flavours. And some villagers are bright blue, bright pink and white like vanilla and strawberry! It makes me happy to see Gelato everyday. And that’s all xD

My first town was called Curry because... I just really love chicken curry;;.. After a hiatus though I decided to reset and my current town is called Kitty! ..After my beloved cat, Kitty-swan. Also because if I decided to make a themed town one day, I?d love to have a cozy, cat-themed town ^^

Nothing in particular, actually. I just saw the name Mochi in a town name suggestions thread and I thought it was really cute! It's probably a name that'll stick with me for a long, long time. You can also get Mochi with green and pink fillings, which goes great with my theme. I've had this town for a year now. :>

My town was originally called Merci which I was a big fan of, it means thank you in French and I think it's quite simple and succinct and pretty! I don't know any other French though!

I ended up remaking the town though for a better layout and made the name Felicity because happiness is important! Smiles and finding happiness in the little things help make life livable! I actually had no idea there was a villager named Felicity at the time but now that I know, I really want her in my village hahaha.

My boyfriend's town name is diddily with no initial caps and it makes me mad! I'm gonna remake it since he doesn't play and choose a pretty name ^w^

my town is called 12908
*with 2 music notes on the sides as seen in my sig* lol

its a special date between my bf and ii! :) everytime ii get visitors they tend to ask where im from and think its my zipcode, lol.. ii usually let them think whatever they want bc its funny when they guess!

ii also wanted to be different, ii didnt think too many ppl would have #s in their names, plus ii honestly could NOT think of a name anyways, ii couldnt decide whether to name it after my fav. food/dessert, my other half, or our Pup-Son or anything, so ii went with the date and its PERFECT!! :)

My current town, Merimont, was just gotten from a random town name generator! It was actually Merrimont but I thought it was too good not to stick with, and removing the r still makes it look nice. It's fun to say and it's just a happy little town and is unlike most of my names in the past! To be fair though, I almost went with Crystalham from the same generator because I legitimately had nothing, but it didn't fit so I'm very happy with how things turned out!

that's so cute! I didn't know you could have town names with numbers, I've never seen one before! :)

My town is called Pukalani. I actually woke up one day with that word on repeat in my head! It was very weird haha
It's apparently a place in Hawaii so I'm making my town tropical themed c:

"aoki" is a japanese surname meaning "blue/green tree." i actually just named it after vocaloid aoki lapis. i don't even like aoki lapis that much i just thought aoki would be a good name for a town.
