I'll kick it off.

My town is called Franklin, which is the hometown of one of my favourite bands and also the name of one of their songs, about their hometown! (Paramore).
:)

Bellinor: it sounds very dark mysterious rainy and heavily forested. very goth sounding to me

Zielonka: actually it's my mom's idea. Back in 2008-2009 when I was 4 or 5 I started playin Let's Go To The City/City Folk. I didn't know how to name my town so my mom came with Zielonka. Zielonka is how my mom called Zielona G?ra, a town where my grandma lives and we visit her from time to time (I know there's also a city called Zielonka near Warsaw).

My town name is Valefar lol. I suck at coming up with town names so I combined two drag queens names from my fav TV show which were Valentina and Farrah

Patril: named after my first harvest moon farm. Got not meaning to it, but reminds me of the country and forests (because of harvest moon Which I guess is called Story of Seasons now, rip).

PPUVilla is because of a long-running Pokemon RP with my best friend.
I had created an organization called the PPU which used to stand for 'Pokemon Poachers Unite', and they acted as antagonists early on in the story. However, after a lot of character development, 'PPU' was changed to mean 'Power Purge Unit' as the organization shifted goals from poaching to foiling the plans of other organizations, most notably Team Rocket.
Since the PPU became so fleshed out in the RP, I wanted to make a town in honor of the characters. Even if the town itself isn't super thematic in it's outer decor, I tried to make the rooms in the houses largely nod towards locations in said RP.

Amestris is simply named after the country of the same name in FMA/ FMA:B.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is my favorite anime, so I wanted a town based on it.
Shamefully, it's not very far developed despite how long I've had the town, but one day...

Kuro simply means 'Black' in japanese and is a reference to the last name of the OC the mayor is based on 'Roger Black'.
Characters are from the 'new gen' of my Pokemon RP with my friend.
Plans to eventually sprinkle more pokemon refs into the town.

Ruddyoak is named after a reddish Ent from an old Lord of the Rings computer game by Interplay. Mayor Athelwyn (and my username) was/were named after a sorceress character from the same game, and the other 3 residents are themed after canon LotR characters.

I wanted a Spanish sounding name but didn't want to use any real life cities here in Southern California. Thus, I went with Logre. It means I achieved. It sounds powerful when pronounced correctly but weird when I say it in English. LOL

so the name of my town is ginbury.. this is gonna make me sound like a lush lol
some friends of mine that i met in new orleans were visiting and we were reliving the "glory days" drinking tequila and mountain dew baja blast (we are classy girls) while i set up my town (i had just found my 3ds in a box in storage, i was really excited) so anyway when i asked for name suggestions they came up with "tequilaville" or something along those lines but it was too many letters. wanting to keep it liquor-themed, we moved to gin, and ginbury was born

i love the play on words though, gin berry, like a juniper berry

anyway its been two years now and i wouldnt ever change it!

My town's name is Darkwell. Truth is i used a random town name generator for D&D because i lack original ideas >_>
The reason i chose this name is because i wanted my town to be a mix of spooky/mysterious exterior (-dark-) with combination of elegant and cute villagers and elements(-well-). Maybe a town with a 'romantic goth' feeling to it. But i don't know if this is achieveable lol

Koholint is an island in an early Legend of Zelda game that has a village of talking animals. I like the LoZ franchise but didn't want to name my town Hyrule (a lot of those out there)

The name of my town is Aurora and means dusk/dawn in Italian.
I choose Aurora because is the beginning of the day so it was the beginning of my adventure in Animal Crossing New Leaf.

(And yes, aurora is also aurora borealis in italian, amazing atmospheric phenomenon)

Okari-I named my new town this because I am working on making this town based on the book I am trying to write, and Okari is one of the Kingdoms in the story. As the characters go, they are named after my characters but so far the houses are not themed.

I named my town Avian, which basically means "relating to birds". It's also my name origin! (Ava)

My main reason for naming it that was because before I started Animal Crossing, I played this other game called Tomodachi Life which is kinda similar to AC, and I named my island Avian. So I was like "hey, I should have the names match!" In retrospect I sort of wish I named my town something else, but I guess I'm stuck with it now :p
