What happened?

I picked up Phoebe at somebody's town once. They saved + continued and then I payed and she still showed up in my town afterwards... So I don't think that "You need to save + quit" rumor is true since she still appeared in my town after a day of inviting her.

Yeah I thought it was pretty doubtful but that's the only other instance I've heard of. They probably had a random plot or maybe had them before..who knows. :(

The ghost plot is weird though because how do you get them to move lol. You'd just have to wait for them to randomly move. o.o I guess maybe your villagers would still mention them an if they were moving maybe?

To my understanding, it seems that if you:
1. talk to the villager and confirm that they will move to your town,
2. save and continue playing,
3. then the wifi crashes/gives you an error before you leave their town,
the town with the villager will say moved out like someone picked them up, but your game won't remember that you did, and thus the villager totally disappears.

That's the problem; they can't move out because it's an invisible PLOT, not an invisible house. The plot never turns into a house so the villager technically isn't even in the town. Since it's still a plot, they can't move out or fully move in, so the game is stuck in limbo and the only way to fix it is to reset your town.

Yeah I just read that thread.
It'd be kinda cool since no other villagers could leave if you had nine dreamies already...but a random plot space that I could never do anything with would drive me crazy.

Apparently it can crash your game a lot, and people can't visit your town, so it's a lot more than an invisible plot. :c

The thing is, it did say moved out.
She's a friend of mine (the supplier) so she wouldn't scam.
... Ankha could be a ghost though. After saving, wifi did go off

Did you save + continue or save + quit? If you saved/continued, then the wifi turned off when you were still in their town, then I'm sorry to say that Ankha has been voided. :c

Yeah, basically what I said with my previous post, saving after you confirm a villager and then having the wi-fi go off confuses the game. It makes your friend's game think Ankha was taken, and it makes your game think you never confirmed her.
): sorry to say that you've totally lost her, I don't even think she'd be in your friend's void because the game thinks another human player took her.

Can OP get Ankha from somebody else, or do they have to go through the 16 cycle?

I'm pretty confident that it would work fine if they got her elsewhere without having to cycle? OP's game doesn't recognize that Ankha was talked to at all, and she didn't move in to OP's town, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Please stop arguing about time travelling. This thread had nothing to do with time traveling. The same effect would have came to pass if I didn't time travel. I'm honestly really sad I lost a villager, who is also really expensive, so hard to get, and I really don't need to talk about how I play my game right now... I just want Ankha back

I'm really sorry about Ankha. :c Will your friend refund you? Or did you not pay at all?

I'll keep an eye on the VTB for you and see what I can find.

She was holding for me from when ankha moved out of my town previously. I then got a new copy and was totally fine with the villager being moved out. I really wouldn't charge her anyway as it wasn't her fault...

I agree. Whether you time traveled or not, seems like something happened in the adoption process and either Ankha was lost or is showing up really really late.

I once adopted Marshal and he showed up like 3 weeks late. Not kidding.

Did you tt forward day by day to 15 days later? Or 15 days later? Sometimes that make a difference.

Also, did you attempt to adopt anyone else before her plot showed up? If yes, sometimes that overrides the first adoption

Did you ever find out what happened to her? Did you get in touch with the person who you got her from and ask if she really did move out?

..Maybe you should just close this thread. They're arguing a lot and don't seem to want to stop :-/

I was actually thinking about that as well. If they TT'd 15 days later without doing it day by day, do you think there's a chance that she could have moved in and moved out within those 15 days?

Would it be possible to check that via the tree history?

That would be pretty weird, I've never had someone that new just move in and out again in that time span.

Diva moved out in 3 days without me asking or introducing, so it definitely is! I hope this gets worked out, Ankha is so cute! I had her in my town for a bit.
