What gold badges do you have?

I'm just dreading the island. I know it's more fun to do with friends, but is it faster? (And I loved the Fitzgerald books, if that is what your name refers to.)

Yes it is faster, because you get extra medals depending on who did better too. But the number of fish or bugs or whatever you have to catch doubles too, but it's still more worth doing with friends. You can compensate for each other's weaknesses, boost morale, and just make it less tedious.

I got most of the gold badges that don't require a lot of effort just through playing the game too much, still working on Dreamer badge and Diver badge (who is gonna dive that much, seriously .-.)

A lot of the ones that seem impossible, like the dreams, or medals etc....if you do a few a day, it'll add up. For example, if you have 10-15 dreams every day, you'll be surprised how quickly you can get there. You only have to go in and out, unless a town looks interesting and you want to explore it.

I have:

Prof. of Entomology
Gold Medalist
Gardening Specialist
Master Turnip Trader
Master Shopper
Refurbishing Master
Catalog Maniac Gold

Just got the HHA one a few days ago -- I was at bronze for a long time since I was locked into the theme challenge ever since I fully upgraded my house and never knew I could opt out of it, haha. Expecting to get the sea creature encyclopedia one soon too, since the last sea creature I need starts appearing in September. :)

17 gold badges to date. I go nuts for badges, my goal is to 100% get them all and complete.
Sadly I have yet to receive even one person from Streetpass... so I am not sure if I will ever receive any streetpass badges. *goes to Japan*

haha, meet you there! :P I felt the same, until I found a local streetpass group that meets once a month. That's what helped me get my silver badge. It's actually fun to go there sometimes. Maybe there's something like that in your area, or you could set one up. Also there's "homepassing" but I'm not smart enough to figure that out. I'm close enough to Disneyland that I seriously considered going there and hanging out by the gate. XD If it was a year ago, when more people were playing, I might seriously have done that for a couple of hours. But not now. It really bugs me though not to be able to get that gold SP badge. :c

I wish, I live in the middle of nowhere (forest to be exact). In town I only know a small handful of people who own a 3DS, and no one who has played yet even heard of Animal Crossing. Maybe when I go on holiday overseas I might get some (Austraila, Singapore, the Philippines), but that is IF many people still play ACNL.

In Japan the badge is very easy to get. My friend went to Japan for a week, he got the sliver badge when he got back. Like for example, he went out for lunch at a mall food court, he got 40 just going there lol.

I think if you're going somewhere on holiday, you'll be in tourist-y spots, with lots of people...your chances are pretty good. Also, I know I didn't have my game cartridge in the last time I went to the streetpass thing in my town, and I still got 20 (the max) streetpasses for ACNL. Now, IDK if those people I streetpassed with had the game in or not...but I think if you have it in, and they don't, you can still get streetpasses at least. What I'm trying to say is that they don't need to be currently playing it, just as long as they did on their console at some point. And lots of people have digital that's always there. Your odds are not too dismal. :)
