What exactly is voiding and the void

So i don't completely get what voiding or what the void is. i get that it's kind of like where all your villagers go to if you don't give them to someone else but that's all i really get.
so my question is can you explain it like really detailed but simple so i can get it? because it just really confusing to me... and also i want to know how do you clear it? because i just don't get how you'd do that etc etc...

The "void" is a place where your recent moved out villagers go, and stay until you've played online. If the person you played online with has 9 or less villagers, your voided villager will move into their town. If the person has 10 villagers, it will clear your void because your voided villager can't move in.
