Hi!

What does your island look like at the moment? Have you done anything special to it by planting trees and flowers or did you remove everything in the middle?

I didn't change a thing on my island. It's still exactly the way it was when I first visited it. I usually use Club Tortimer whenever I want to catch some beetles and I remove everything on those islands except the palm trees.

I have left my islands exactly the way are in both of my towns. I like the way they look because it reminds me of playing in the old days when I didn't landscape anything. I don't remove anything, even though I know it will help me catch more valuable bugs, because I don't want to ruin that nostalgic feeling. It's what keeps me from being bored when I'm fishing/bug hunting.

I do have two palm trees that are too close to each other and if a bug spawns on both, I know I can only catch one. The other one will always be scared away. I keep thinking that one day I'll move that palm tree, but it's been almost two years now and I still haven't done it. I doubt I ever will. It's rare that two bugs spawn there, anyway.

I think I chopped down the middle trees and have lots of coconut trees. I even have a special stump on the island that I received with only the normal axe :)

Had bananas and lychees originally, but like the above posters, I chopped down every tree in the middle. I even got rid of all the flowers and bushes in the middle, but no longer remember why. . .

AND, I have trees way too close together or too close to the water :( Thinking of chopping everything and replanting my own.

I've only ever seen 'practical' islands made for beetle hunting, so this is an interesting thread ! Just how creative CAN someone get with the island?

I left it more or less the same but I removed a bush for some reason and planted some more coconut trees and also cut one down in the process and left a stump there.

I chopped down a lot of the palms. I think I only have five now, but catching the palm beetles is way easier now. Roughly forty minutes on the island and I'm done farming so it's really nice. I also removed all of the flowers and every fruit tree except for one, so I'm getting lots of giant and rainbow stags now as well.

Now if only I could get all the annoying wharf roaches and hermit crabs to leave...

Used to be barren for bug catching purposes. Now it’s decorated with fruit trees and bushes again :3

i cut down like two palmtrees and normal trees for easier access and removed most of the flowers but that's it. don't really care about the look of my island anyway because i'm in lilalia most of the time

I never really changed my island at all, I may only moved the flowers away to another spot to not run them over when I'm about to catch fishes and bugs but that's pretty much it.

Nope, haven't done a thing to my island. I always just leave it alone, as I like the way it is originally. Whenever I go bug catching and fishing, it only takes me about an hour to do each trip and I do about 1-2 trips a days for farming. It makes me tons of bells and I quite like it. So yeah, I always leave it alone originally. :)

I don't think I changed anything. Oh actually, may have cut down a tree so as to catch the bugs who "live" on tree stumps.

I cut down all the middle trees except one, and took out all the bushes. I left about 3 palm trees on each side to help with collecting rare bugs.
However, I don?t really need the bells anymore and I don?t collect bugs that often.. so I was thinking to redecorate it with pretty hybrids and plants coconuts, bushes, and bananas. I kinda miss when it was more full, it just looks barren right now!
