What does Coca-Cola taste like to you?

I have come to find most people either like it or hate it, so I have become curious; what does it taste like to you? I have heard of it tasting like hot dog water before for some, so I am expecting anything!

For me I mostly just taste the acidic note and I think it is an alright balance with the sugar.
I am all for sour/tangy candies so that is one of my favorite parts. The amount of caffeine in it too is a nice pick-me-up once in a while. It is typically my second choice to water.

Coke is so well established that it is kind of its own flavor at this point, so it's hard to articulate other flavor components in describing it.

but coincidentally, just yesterday i opened a pack of Haribo gummi cola bottles, and the smell of it strongly reminded me of allspice. so imma go with allspice, vanilla, and high-fructose corn syrup...

this isnt about how coca cola tastes to me, but it is about how it tastes compared to pespi, because isn't everyone aware of the big coke vs. pepsi thing? so:

Coca cola in all its disgusting sweetness was invented before refrigeration to be drunk warm (it was also invented to be a medicine with a very questionable ingredient (; )
Pepsi however was invented after refrigeration and was therefore designed to be drunk cool.

Therefore, if you drink cola warm and pepsi cool, they will taste nearly the same but if you drink both cool or both warm there will always be a difference.

It's been a while since I've had a Coke. It's my least favorite soda and for some reason it always made my back hurt when I used to drink it. But if I recall, it had too much of a metallic taste for me. If it was in a glass bottle, it was tolerable (still not my favorite), but any other container and it just tasted awful.

Very sugary and fizzy to me. I should know because I've honestly drunk it so many times within the last decade. I got addicted to it for all practical purposes back around 2009.

It tastes kind of odd to me. I was never a huge fan of it, even when I used to drink a lot of soda. Mountain Dew was always my preferred drink back then.
