What old TV shows do you like?

@DaCoSim you have some great ones there!! Instead of just agreeing, I will try to add to your list (specifically Cheers)... Seinfeld, Quantum Leap, Malcom in the Middle, My name is Earl.... just off the top of my head.... I hope to continue this conversation, this is right up me alley!!

I would still like a definition of what "old" is so I can narrow down my thoughts! @a potato...

@DaCoSim I feel like we could talk shows together for days!!

I am going to go a lot older with the shows now... Very early Nick at Night stuff. Laverne and Shirley, The Dick van **** Show, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Bob Newhart Show.... geez... should we go all the way back to Mr. Ed? 🤣

P.s. for some reason the beloved actor Dick van **** has his last name censored. Very sad.

lol!!! oh yeah, I remembered the Bob Newhart show very well. Along with a lot of the Nick at night and just regular nickelodeon old shows like Lassie, and I dream of Jeannie, oh yeah, I loved MASH as well!!!! And then we get into the Munsters and the Addams family. I loved both of those! Tales from the crypt. Knight Rider

It's making feel old when thinking about how Nickelodeon had almost nothing but old shows for so long!

I think the TV channel started to change with Double Dare and all of the slime being dumped on contestants.

Gilligan’s Island was already retro when I was a kid and my sister and I thought it was hilarious. We even had the series on DVD!

I watched all of I Love Lucy during COVID. A classic!

I’ve also watched all of Sanford and Son. It is probably the funniest show I’ve ever seen. 😂

Also, Mama’s Family, All in the Family, King of Queens (kinda older), Golden Girls, and Columbo.
OH! And I also forgot to include The Jeffersons, Designing Women, Speed Racer (the cartoon), original Pokemon, and the Mary Tyler Moore Show.

I’ve also seen a couple episodes of a sitcom called Hazel. The main character has a unique, yet comforting voice, if that makes sense.

When I was a kid…Full House was my jam! 😅

lol I luved double dare! Mark something hosted! And Dick Van ****, the actor, is one of my favorites, as my favorite movie of all time is Mary Poppins!!!! I should probably go find the show and rewatch it cause I only watched a little bit of that as a kid!

Well, I do have tons of old TV shows I like so I'm basically listing down which shows I enjoy by category (There is more cartoons on this list than live action, so yeah):

Cartoons/Animated shows
  • Looney Tunes (the classic shorts)
  • Super Secret Secret Squirrel (that mini-series/segment from the season 1 of "2 Stupid Dogs", also current hyper fixation aaaa)
  • Dexter's Laboratory
  • Powerpuff Girls
  • Pokemon (the earlier anime seasons)
  • Johnny Bravo
  • Ed, Edd, n' Eddy
  • Samurai Jack
  • Evil Con Carne
Live action shows (a.k.a., this list is very short)
  • Legends of the Hidden Temple
  • Takeshi's Castle

I love almost every show on that list...Johnny Bravo is underrated!

I am going to get personal here to prove I enjoy these old cartoons and they bring back memories! (It took a bit of digging through old moving boxes to find these two toys I have had for ages....)

Dexter and Mojo Jojo! Such great characters from old cartoons!

A few of my favorites from when I was younger:

Hey Arnold! - This one has to be my favorite. They don’t make shows like this anymore.
Oswald - I really liked this show growing up.
Pokémon - I loved the earlier seasons.

Some old TV shows I like would be
  • Stargate SG-1. Atlantis, too, I guess but it's definitely not as good. Rainbow Sun was the saving grace but unfortunately they killed off his character very quickly. Back onto SG-1, I think I've watched the series in its entirety about 3 or 4 times. I really enjoyed it, even if some characters are very a smidge annoying
  • Murder She Wrote. I fell off watching it for the later series, but I really enjoyed the first few.
  • Looney Toons, but I haven't watched anything from it in a good long while. It used to be one of my favourite shows though
And that's all I can think of for now. I'll probably add more later, when I remember them
