What do you think about Fortnite ?

battle royales and fps games just aren't my thing. but tbh i hate the adults who make fun of kids having fun with it more, just because it's not your thing doesn't mean you get a free pass to embarrass children you've never even met. plus i have a close friend who really likes it

I've never played it and I probably never will. It does not interest me at all.
Even if I wanted to try it; people are so next level at this point that I don't really have the motivation to try it and become good at it.

Not really a fan of such games like Fortnite to be honest. And it starts to get kinda annoying to hear about it here, there, everywhere.

I don't think it's bad concept wise, it looks fun in that regard. But the hype surrounding it is literally just there because it's free, I don't think the game itself is bad, but it's the hype and cringe culture coming from it that is making it annoying. I'm honestly more excited for Fallout76 than I am fortnite.

Argh, it's one of those games that get really popular no matter how good or bad the game is. In my opinion, what was Nintendo thinking when they allowed Fortnite to be on the Switch? And when I see someone playing that game, my mind goes ballistic saying "fortnitefortnitefortnitefortnitefortnite". I know some people will say that we have to deal with it but I find that to be ignorant. Wouldn't you feel the same way when something gets rubbed in your face constantly?

The thing is, its a fun, well designed, well put together thrid person shooter, with good controls and good online. Nintendo allowed it to be on the Switch, because its a fun game. I get that you hate it because you see it too much, but what I think, is that people should stop saying "Ew, you play Fortnite?" because its popular, and maybe realise that it's actually a pretty good game, I hate it when people hate on games because they're popular.

I think it's one of those games that deserves to be popular. It's free, they're constantly adding new content for both gameplay and cosmetics, they've introduced cross-play between consoles, and it's just really fun! With that being said, I'm not sure how people can only play this game. I get burned out after an hour or two lately because I've been regularly playing to level up my Battle Pass the whole season. I just wish the world wasn't like this where it focuses on one or two big things at a time and then they'll eventually burn themselves out or get sick of it. I already see people just talking trash about it in this thread when I don't think they did anything that deserved that. I mean do you know how sick I am of seeing a new Call of Duty every year and regularly gameplay of it? I don't go bashing it publically because I know people still enjoy it. It's just not cool to do that.

i like it a lot! it's really fun and one of my favorite parts of the games is the cosmetics. each new battle pass gives me more motivation to keep playing so i can tier up and get a really nice skin to show for it. i'm not the best, but i'm not horrible at it either which makes it enjoyable. i love to play with my friends (either seriously or to just mess around) and it's overall an enjoyable game imo.

Yeah you can't just hate on a game because the way it looks or its popular, I mean you need to try the game and think what will you rate it.

Listen everyone you can't just hate on a game because of what others think of it, you have to actually PLAY THE GAME TO SEE FOR yourself and realize its not a bad game at all.

Man I bet it takes forever for you to get to level 100 to get everything from the battle pass. Man that's a lot of work, I bet you play it for hours every single day just trying to get to level 100.

I love the game even though I don't play it much anymore! It's a very good game to pick up easily and casually so a lot of people who wouldn't otherwise be gamers can get into it which is really good I think, unlike games like league of legends. The dances are nice too (even if they existed before the game added them) and it's cute that a lot of kids know them so it's sorta a unifying thing for them I think! The building and shooting aspects are pretty cool and the new additions they add are cool, but a few of my friends hate how quickly they change stuff up like core mechanics involving shotguns, etc. I don't really care because I don't play, I spent like 65$ on it once though tbh so maybe the fact that I don't play it anymore says something about it...

Yeah same, don't really like it myself but others are free to get enjoyment out of it!

I really enjoyed fortnite last year and for a long while this year. my problem with fortnite is a moral dilemma though. dance emotes are entirely stolen from artists/creators in general. so basically, fortnite (epic games) makes their money off of stealing other people’s hard work. since finding this out, I haven’t even touched the game. it’s disappointing because I did enjoy the game a lot for about a year, but the company is a little too scummy for my taste. making millions off of stolen work is too grimy.

I‘m not a fan of the grind, for the first time since I started in season 3 I wasn’t able to complete the battlepass content because Gold Peely *required* mindless grinding

I tried it once and I didn't like it. The gameplay isn't for me, I rather just have all my things and rely on tactical gameplay without building things. That's just like the games I grew up with.

I actively play and enjoy Fortnite. I find it fun and love to play it from time to time. All the cute skins make me happy (my fav is any of the cuddle team leaders) and I love to see what a new season has to bring.

I get that some people hate to see it because it was literally everywhere for a while (don't see it as much as I used to tho), but I don't think it deserves the hate it gets. It's free, has good controls, and isn't horrible. So it really all depends on if it's your cup of tea.

The gameplay is fine.

It's everything else about the game I dislike. I don't like its aggressive monetization, and I don't much care for its community. (Note that I'm speaking in broad terms, not referring to anyone specific) I have it installed on my Switch because my nephew can't remember his own account password and his parents are so frustratingly hands-off that they are very unhelpful when it comes to setting up and maintaining his account. So whenever he's over and for whatever reason can't access the game on his Switch, I let him use mine.




Which is a nice gesture that I immediately start to regret as soon as he starts complaining to me about how I only have the default skin.
