What do you think about AC weather synced with your local weather?

I was playing ACNL yesterday, and I had a rainy day in the game. It was also a rainy day in my local weather, and I really liked that the weather was synced up!
What do you guys all think if there was an option in the newer games, or even on ACNL, to have you local weather synced up with the AC weather? So, if it was raining or storming in your local weather, it would be doing that in the game too? And if there was even different weather that can occur in real life, like fog or hail?
I think that would make the game even more enjoyable for me, and seem even more real. Although it is nice sometimes to have gloomy weather in real life, and be able to log into a sunny day in ACNL and get cheered up a little.. maybe an option to turn it on/ off?
What do you all think? Thoughts/opinions? Personally I wish there were more weather options in ACNL, because I love foggy days :)

i really like the idea of this, but i've been thinking about it and i'm not too sure. if it's cold in a region of the world and it's snowing there while it's burning hot in another region, it'd be odd to have snow in August or heat in December in the game, unless that already happens and i'm unaware of it

I don't actually like this idea although it's a really interesting one. It's just that some regions don't have snow and barely have rain and some places have snow all the time, and where I am, it rains SOOOO much and I wouldn't want to have rain all the time. I think it would make the player experience super unbalanced between regions where they could barely experience certain seasons and just be stuck with one or two seasons all year. I like having the 4 seasons balanced with 3 months each, and each month comes with their own weather patterns. That way, everyone gets to experience everything the game can offer! My only wish for the weather is that there is more variety, and unique things to do associated with each weather/season type, and that winter isn't just a dead month of white snow everywhere for a whole 3 months.

Yeah I've always loved that idea. Having the game access your local weather report & emulate it in-game.

Seasons could be similar too. (Here in Australia Christmas is actually in the summer. So when I play AC in December & it's snowing it kind of messes with my head.)

I think Northern/Southern hemisphere alignment should be implemented 100% in the next game.

However, I don't like local weather syncing. While an interesting idea, it never snows where I am, and it would be disappointing to see a drab and boring winter in my town.

While I think it's a very interesting idea, I think in practice it wouldn't work for a lot of people. Like it's already been said, not everybody gets much rain or snow and some people don't get any. And some people get way too much of those things.

I do think it's neat whenever it's raining in real life and I log onto the game to find it's raining in my town too. But I think if it always synced up, I'd get tired of it very fast. When it rains for a week straight in real life, I just want to get away from it, so then it's nice if it's not raining in my town.

I do think there should be an option of switching the seasons around for the southern hemisphere, though. I can imagine that would get a little awkward if you're used to the seasons being opposite.

How would it be possible?
I can understand day/night cycle being the same as real life but I don't think weather will be possible unless they use one of those things or sites you use to check what the weather will be and they would have to change all the seasons in the games across the world to be excactly the same as each other (becouse I think it snows instead of rains in winter)

I guess it would require constant internet access to do that also.

I think it could be done without internet access. My dad has one of those atomic clocks that tells the weather and it doesn't use an internet connection. Apparently, it uses radio waves and there's a station that broadcasts the weather in the US and it just picks up on that. I don't fully understand it, but it could work like that.

I like the idea, but some places don't get much rain at all and never get snow. It would not be fair to them for getting things like Coelecanths or other things that only appear in the rain. That's why it's a horrible idea.

I think it's really cool when it does happen but ultimately would be too much work to make happen

I mean, it's a interesting idea, although I'm worried that I would get never snow in the winter time, as
here where I live we are getting barley any snow, maybe for two or three days if we have luck. If I'm
honest here, I don't really need it, but if it's a option you can choose if you want, I may gonna try it
out on my second town then.

I think it would be neat, but it rarely snows here. And with Animal Crossing, I enjoyed the holiday events with snow and how it made it feel like winter in game. So I feel like I'd miss out on some things.

I guess now I?m reconsidering with all your responses :p I live in a place where the seasons change a lot in the U.S., and I would be harder for others around the world who have vastly different weather!
Seeing the snow is probably a nice change for others, too. Where I live, there?s snow almost 7 months out of the year usually, and I like that it becomes springtime earlier in the game as compared to my own climate. There?s other places around the world that probably don?t get as vast weather changes, and it would be too boring for them. I think that it could be a cool option to turn on, but yeah definitely not permanent. Thank you all for your responses! :)

I would hate it. I've played through hurricanes before and if it was as rainy and depressing in-game as it was in real life all the time, I'd probably never play again.

I personally am a little bit unsure about this, since some places don?t have as varied climates as others

I like the idea (and I thought about it too) but here's the problem.

Where I live I get zero snow. ZERO. I'd not have the entire experience of the game... No snow collection, snowfamily, none. I dislike the regional Pokemons in Go, I'd dislike to be at a disadvantage again because of where I live.

no thanks. i'm not too fond of the idea of giving out my location even if it's just an approximation. plus i play animal crossing as a miniature escape from life. i don't like the idea of seeing it mimicked 1:1.
