When you are resetting your town, what do you look out for?

So far I've only got;
Circle Grass
Apples
Good locations of facilities
South facing waterfall
Rocks
Huge land
3 ponds

I need help please

I look for how grass shape, fruit, location of retail town hall etc, which side the beach is on, the river flow, how many rocks and where they are, if the beach is split/has a pirate cove (section of beach you can only get to by wetsuit), and if there is a good variety of land mass (if there is one or two huge open spaces and if there is a couple tucked away spots. Hope this helps!

All this plus the amount of ponds. Max two ponds for me.

- I look for the amount of ponds (2 at the most), and make sure they are small ponds
- Square grass or triangle grass
- Good starting villagers
- Cherry as the native fruits
- Location of town hall & retail
- Placement of bridge
- Private beach
-GOOD MAP OMG

and many more.

The map is the only thing I'm a stickler for. Obviously I have hopes for town fruit/starter villagers etc but if the retail/townhall/rivers/plaza placement is good enough, the rest fall by the wayside.

I always look for two things when resetting:

1: Down facing river.
2: Apple as my town fruit

The rest is just a bonus. The third thing I look for is a nice place near the beach to place my house, but that isn't priority.

I have a lot of things I am looking for when I start a new town:

I have had too many towns with East beaches, so I'm always on the lookout for a West facing beach.

Sometimes I like a South Waterfall, other times I like it on the side.
I will only take a side waterfall if the rest of the map and/or the starter villagers are amazing.

IF the side waterfall juts out a bit and you can see it? Those side waterfalls are my favorite. And they are super rare usually.

Re-Tail not in the far corner of the map. I don't do a lot of trades in my towns but I want to make it nice if others come by.

If I had only one town I'd have perfect pears - most people don't like pears, but I do. Besides, it makes them more rare. Most people pick apples.

My favorite beach type is the vertical ramp. It makes me happy going up and down it every time.

- cherry/peach as the native fruit
- starter villagers
- no awkwardly small beaches or slim areas on the map
- a unique shape to the landscape
- making the re-tail is close to the beach in case i need to sell anything from the island

Personally, I'm fussy but this is what I like

Circle grass
Apples
Red roof of train station
Blue town hall
A dreamie
An indent in the river

I have never resetted for the 'perfect' town layout. I just picked my favourite out of the choices I got the first time.

But if I had a second copy of the game and decided to reset to get a good layout, I would make sure it is completely different to Lumatown, so I wouldn't want any of these:

- The river splitting the town diagonally in half
- Peaches as the native fruit
- Green train station and town hall
- Any of the villagers that live in Lumatown (Poppy, Eugene, Wart Jr,, Merry, Wendy, Fuchsia, Kody, Flurry, Olaf)
- I wouldn't mind if it had circle grass because it's my favourite, but I would prefer a different type of grass

There are a few things that I think would be cool to have, but I probably wouldn't reset too much for them. These are:

- Yellow train station
- Any of the following villagers: Marshal, Hazel, Astrid, Gayle, Melba, Felicity, Alfonso
- A pirate cove
- Town square in the middle of town

But I would definitely want Re-Tail to be either in the middle of town or the southern area.

I look for:
A vertical ramp with no space on either side.
Triangle Grass (I've never had it, I've only had square grass once, and circle grass every other time)
At least one dreamie and one villager who is either popular (so I can give them to someone for free) or who was one of my favourites in a previous game. (I had Chrissy and Stitches as starters in my main town, and Bunnie and Punchy as starters in my Second town)
Cherries as native fruit. I'll accept apples if I like everything else. Definitely no oranges or peaches.
The train station does not have my permission to be green. It is always green.
I hate the town hall in my Second town. It has green on it. Ew. Please can I get a perfect town.
Private Beach.
Town tree can not be near the edges of the town.
Good town layout.
No more than two ponds.

I used to only look for good villagers. :o

I don't care about grass shape, fruit, color of station, etc. I just make sure theres not too many rocks, and only one pond. I do like to make sure theres a nice area to place my characters houses.

i've never reset and when i made my town i literally didn't think about anything but my mayor's face (i wanted to not look at a guide first, but i turned out ugly so i just reset and went by a guide)

i'm getting a second town soon and i'll look for

*not too many rocks
*big open spaces for my planned pwps
*not too big river
*not too many lakes
*town hall and retail in good places
*better beach than i have in my town, preferably with a private part
*since i have dreamies already set for the town I don't want any dreamies to already live there if their houses are in bad places (like in front of something) since I don't want to have to do the 16 villager cycle lol
