Specifically talking about the area on the top left. All I've really done is set down a path lined with some trees and then my campground at the end. It feels too narrow to do anything with, but it's long enough that I should do SOMETHING other than an orchard/pathway :p

Thoughts?

I have that top sliver in my main town. It is a pretty awkward area to landscape... and I'm glad I don't have to think about it in my second town, haha. Mine worked out pretty nicely though. Hazel's house is in that area and her house exterior colours are reddish. I thought it would be perfect to put my perfect apple orchard there. It's a bit typical to use an orchard to fill up the space... but I really like how it looks in my town. I also put a log bench and scarecrow there near her house so it doesn't look too empty.

Directly in front of the log bench is the bridge and waterfall.

If you go further to the left of this sign it's the train station/main street.

I try to avoid that since you might get unlucky with villagers but if I have to have them I usually slap pwps and paths on them so I don't have to deal with it too much. Wish they'd skip on those layout and I'm glad my current is not that.

I actually love my little sliver of land at the top of my map. It was one of the first areas I planned out and completed landscaping. I was inspired by a town that used the area to create a path to a hidden shrine with the Zen Bell at the end of it. I turned mine into a peaceful nature retreat tucked away from the rest of the town. I have a bamboo lined path going past the Stone Tablet that leads to a Hot Spring surrounded by flowers and bamboo. The geyser is in the far corner.

I love it because it looks really nice from the opposite shore of the river too. I have a log bench on the other side of the river and you can sit there and watch the geyser.

Since you already have your campsite there, I think you could do something nice, like put a fire pit, a log bench, a water pump or water well, or some stumps along the river for fishing. I wouldn't put too much there because you don't want it to get cluttered, but if you placed just one or two of those things, I bet it would look really nice.

On my sliver of land, I put a bit of a "shanty town" where 2 villagers with awfully run down houses live and then the reset center. I really like it cuz it keeps the ugly houses away from the main town and still that tiny portion makes sense to be the cheaper housing cuz it's by the train tracks and sewer (reset center) lol. Oh, also my pitfall seed is buried there. It's honestly a cute little area. Even put a bench there so the poor animals can sit by the river. So they don't feel so awful about their real estate hahaha.

I have a sliver of land at the top of my map, too. I have a little tree-lined pathway to my campsite, and at the very end near the waterfall, I'm creating a peaceful wooded area with a log bench. It's still in progress but I'm fairly happy with it, it goes nicely with the campsite nearby. ^^

Oh my god I love this idea :’D cos cute villagers like Static have hideous homes... the shanty exterior just does NOT work well with most other exteriors.

I put my campside too because it fits perfectly in my opinion!
I also put some trees and if you go to the far left there's some clovers and flowers, with trees again. Didn't think much about landscaping there as I thought it looked cozy with not too many things.

I love your orchard sign and your landscaping. It's beautiful! :D Do you have a dream address so I can see more?

When I had a town with a top silver (which I had a few times back then), I checked out how
much space I have there and depending on the space, I either put there my mayor's house,
an alt character's house, the campside or some trees with a bench. Sometimes, a villager
or even two villagers put their houses there. At first I thought having a town with such a
top silver would sucks, because I didn't know at the beginning would I should do with this
little part of my town, but as time went on, I came up with more ideas how to use it and
now it's actually not that bad.

I put the campsite and a line of fruit trees and bamboo along the top. I don?t really like the way it looks, so I covered it up with the trees and bamboo and keep the items/ flowers there that I don?t want to lose. I?m trying to collect bamboo and make it look like a bamboo ?forest?

I have my campsite in almost the exact same position on my sliver. I made that portion of town my only real forest portion since the rest is fairly developed. But I love it! I made a pretty winding/maze-like pathway that goes through lots of trees and bushes and even a little clearing in the woods. I plan to add a log bench or other pwp to go along with the camping theme as well. I like to use the little slivers to get creative with my path laying basically. I love it though! I think those slivers are great for campsites especially when the town theme maybe doesn’t fit that woodsy/camping vibe that the campsite lends itself to.

I put a bus stop, wood bench, drinking fountain then a traffic signal and a video screen that goes all the way to the train station. I also put a wooden bridge to connect them to the villager houses. I set them up like that using the bridge to get to the bus stop then go to the train station (assuming or at least, thinking that they do).

I fill that area with cedar and sapling trees. I control the area so no incoming villagers can move there. I don?t bother with a PWP, like a bench, for the area. Perhaps I will have some flowers on the edges while filling in between those trees QR paths which are grass.

one of my towns Kabuki lives on top of the sliver area. Just planted bamboo around him. left a path so kabuki could exit his house

Hahahah xD!!!

[td]I have sliver in some of my towns and actually I like it. In my main town it's area for human residents' houses.

And in my 6th town it's just small area for flowers and trees. I love how it looks but can't screenshot right now for some reasons, might try it again later.

my top area is filled with the plaza, town hall, re-tail, and planned location for my cafe. i have a big section on the other side of my river where i moved all my villagers. my campsite and soon-to-be police station are there too. the empty spaces i have elsewhere i put down paths to walk along, trees, and pwps

i put my stone tablet at the end of it and I plan on making it seem like a abandoned foresty area

The top parts of my map on both sides have a very thin walk way that I kind of filled up with apple trees to make a path to the two separated "balls of land" that are there. They're not exactly orchards but there are a few trees leading to these areas just to make the thin strips of land feel more full.
However, past that, on the left side (I think, I'm 19 but I get my lefts and rights horribly confused haha) I put up a little sign pwp in memory of my dog who passed away 2 years ago, just because I know virtually no villager can really go near the area thanks to the apple trees kind of blocking them away (somehow I'm getting purple roses to spawn there?? Idk how) the other side is sort of meant to be a mini woods that leads to my soon to be 4th character's house. His walk way I've filled up with Gyroids and orange flowers since he's sort of meant to be a priest who honors the dead.

I have a bottom left sliver and I slapped a topiary on it and some trees around so it doesn't look too empty. Sadly I kinda had to go with that map because i got good villagers and it was the best I could get lol.
