What do you do to get rid of unwanted stones? (Not rocks)

I have an unholy amount of stones that I am not planning on using. Is it better to craft something and sell it or sell the stones by themselves?

Apparently it's always a better deal if you craft furniture with the rocks with any crafting materials before selling them. However, I just cut my losses because it takes way too long to craft a bunch of things

You could craft the stone furniture DIYs when they are on the hot items rotation to sell for a large sum of Bells, what I normally do. Stone Tables (as an example) sell for 2400 Bells each when they're a hot item, for only 8 stones. Each stack of stone is essentially worth 9000 Bells.

Or you could trade them off to other players who may want stone, since you need a lot for stone fences.

You can craft garden rocks to decorate your island. I have rocks scattered around my island to make some parts of my island (lighthouse area/docks, campsite, mountain trail) appear more natural.

• garden rock - 15 stones
• flat garden rock - 20 stones
• tall garden rock - 60 stones

I never have enough stones. I use them for the stone archs which take 90 pieces of stone to make, zen stone & western stone which both cost 30 stones to make.

I had so many stones so I used them to craft one of each of the garden rocks. And what I had left over, I sold the excess. I made a good chunk I think.

I was hitting rocks every in-game day for gold nuggets but stopped because it's time consuming for a TTer and I have unhealthy amounts of the other materials because of it. Luckily blue balloons drop gold too! I'm always out of hardwood though but at least I usually only need it to craft tools.

but aren't there rock DIYS that needed like 30-60-90 of them? it won't take that long to craft like 2-3 of them and your stone stacks will go through quick

I have tons of stones in my storage from when I used to keep what I got mainly because I can't be bothered to sell all of them, but if I get a new stone I sell them.

I wouldn't sell them to Nook's Cranny. I would either save them for when you really want to use them, or sell them online.

I would go with this suggestion. These things add a nice touch in your island.
