What do I need to catch before January ends?

It's January in my town and the snows has just begun to melt today! I'm working hard on completing my encyclopedia and more importantly my museum! What do I absolutely need to catch before January ends that I won't have a chance to come February and later months?

The octopus is the only thing that disappears (only until March!) when January ends.

Ugh, good! I'll throw my diving suit back on then I was worried because I got my diving suit for the first time yesterday and spent all night diving...until I fell asleep and didn't save So I had to start all over today and try to catch the same things. I think I got all of the crabs, but I didn't manage an octopus or a scallop today. I think scallops I can catch on the island all year round though.

Yes, the Octopus is the only thing that changes. The January bugs and fish are still available in February except I'm pretty sure the Dung Beetle will cease spawning in the middle of February or something.

But as far as the Octopus goes, you can get it at any time of year on the island.
