I saw this thread on another site about The Sims and it seemed very popular, so why not try the same thing here?

Post things that you find frequently annoy you about the game. Personally I have too many to list or remember, but here is what I can think of that bugs me on a regular basis.

  • The stores closing up at night with no real workaround. Even the night owl ordinance only extends their business hours a little bit. This is really silly. Many people work night shifts or are simply night owls like me, and I hate time travelling because it feels cheaty.
  • How difficult it seems to get the villagers to ping you. I remember this being easy peasy in Wild World but I struggle with it on New Leaf. I've even tried what the guides say; going out to sea, waiting 5 minutes and returning, because I'm desperate for new public projects. It only occasionally works for me. This brings me to another peeve - the jellyfish not leaving you alone!
  • The silly QR code security system not allowing you to display foreign patterns at Ables. Realistically, wouldn't people allowing sharing on their designs WANT them to get more publicity? Especially if you've found them on the net.
  • Isabel being so constrictive of well... everything. It feels more as thought she's the mayor at times.
  • New animals building over hybrids or in areas you wanted kept clear for something else. They could have made it another mayoral power to require permission on building locations.

most of mine are probably pretty common, but i'll list em anyway!
i completely agree with you on not being able to display others' qr codes & isabelle being so restrictive about certain things, especially PWP placement ;;

-rocks. i hate rocks. at least let us move them, if not destroy them!
-very little storage for QR codes
-not being able to decide where villagers move
-PICKING UP VOIDED VILLAGERS.
-not being able to plant bushes right next to buildings. trees i understand, but bushes would look nice :c
-those random dirt patches that don't go away

-sometimes how you can't plant trees/bushes in certain places even though there's no obstacle in the way.

- Not being able to place a PWP in the same place as the first time. (I don't understand)

-Moving out unwanted villagers. Omg everytime I'm doing a trade and moving out a villager, it literally takes years. But my dreamies just easily move without pinging me.

-When a voided villager takes your 10th spot. Everytime this happens I have my villagers I've wanted show up at my campsite ugh.

-Having to plot reset

-having a voided villager take the 10th spot in your town and when they literally wont ever flipping leave (paula im looking at you)
-not being able to plant bushes next to buildings
-rocks in dumb places and you can't destroy them or move them
-the jellyfish while diving

Oh yes, those bl**dy rocks! I made an urban themed hood back in the Wild World days and the roads needed 4 spaces in width including pavement. Rocks would make constant dilemmas.

... Which reminds me of another peeve - patterns not being placeable in front of building doors.

I'd imagine these are pretty common gripes. but:

--lack of storage in general, just not enough considering all of the attainable items in the game.

--having to constantly monitor villagers re whether someone is moving out

--letting one person's jerkiness or bad wifi terminate everyone's session at Club Tortimer.

I just remembered another. How easy it is to miss peoples messages if you go through a door or any kind of load screen. Plus messages in general disappear very quickly. Wild World didn't have that issue.

-- Not being able to build more freely.
-- Not being able to label villagers in a favorites list so they'll never move.
-- Not being able to have some say in where they put their house.
-- Not being able to move doorways inside a house. Having a gaping hole right in the middle of the wall is unsightly.

I just discovered you can't put numbers in your mayor card comment thing.

...Why not? I was going to put my FC in there for when meeting people at CT.

Villagers ask for favors way too often. The dialogue in general seems to be lacking as well. My villagers constantly repeat the same lines, sometimes multiple times in a row. I'd be rich if I had a nickel for every time Mira or Rolf mentioned that my ski mask seems to be my go-to accessory.

When a villager moves in right in front of my house, I hate it so much when they do that.

The sadness that will have to be leaving a beloved game and all of the intensely hard work put into it, just to move on to newer versions of it when the time comes, if the time comes. This and the fact that the game could of had more detail or reward to it in its items and friendships.

I also really dislike how villagers move away and how they do so with (and sometimes without much) absence. We put so much work into loving them, and yet that prompts them to want to leave even faster.

I love this game to the scent, but it could have so many more things changed to make it better. I also wish they'd add real video games again.

How do you mean, add real video games?

Yeah, I assumed before NL was released that Nintendo would use the whole update thing to add big updates, like they do nowadays on the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 games etc. They needn't make a whole new game for quite a while if they did that.

The first animal crossing had the option to play NES games as furniture. Twas a thing of beauty.

With being so limited as a game, it would have really helped to of had games inside it to play, especially with friends.

-The rocks. The rocks omg. They just ruin absolutely everything and they're always in the way.

-The Wifi disconnects on the island, especially when you lose a ton of rare bugs/fish.

-The friend code system just feels like a hassle to me.

-That one villager that drives you insane and refuses to leave.

I must be pretty lucky with the island. I hardly ever get DC'd. I do get people arriving right at the wrong moments though. Have you noticed the sharks/bugs are gone after the wait screen? Argh.

The FC system is heaps better than it was with Wild World. Those FCs were per game, not per DS, so if you restarted you'd have to update everyone with the new FC. I'm so glad the 3DS has one universal FC.

The hippy goat that's been in my town since I started that won't leave although my dreamies practically disappear
