i know!

1st pick up the the items you want to clone/ duplicate

2nd save- skip this step and you can never get the items back!

3rd drop the items you are cloning/ duplicating

4th leave the town the Copper and Booker way, and reset when you stop talking to him and are about to run- very important that you don't let it start saving

The best way to do this trick is with the home menu, it's much safer, however it's a lot harder to do.
