I?m trying to multiply my money so I can get my shop running, but what are the reprecussions of time traveling 2 years into the future? (changing the 3ds clock, not the in-game one)

I think everyone will just be like, WHERE DID YOU GO?! ITS BEEN TWO YEARS. And you'll have a lot of weeds probs.

Not sure if any villagers will move.

I don?t think I will have weed probs cause of my town ordinance, but what I want to know is if any villagers will move. Also, according to what I?ve read, when you change the in-game clock, the time moves normally, but when you change the 3ds clock, it?s like you instantly jump from one day to the other

No, it doesn't matter HOW you change the time. The way the game sees it is the exact same. People use the 3DS clock when they're plot resetting, which requires a new save. You can't change the time before you start a new save, so you must do it through the 3DS clock.

If you're worried about losing a villager, go around town and find out who wants to leave. If you don't want that villager to leave, tell them no. You may then time travel as far as you want and nobody will move. If you don't care if they move, move forward and only that villager will have moved out. Or, alternatively, change your 3DS to 2 years ahead and load a new save file. Once you see the map check to see if anybody moved out. If they didn't, then you are safe and you can load it with your mayor file.

I try to play my game every day, but that actually NEVER happens, so instead I write down the last day and time it was when I played and next time I play the day it would have been next. I always switch things on my 3DS Clock though because as soon as you get to the start screen the game knows already what the 3DS Clock is set at.
If I change it on the 3DS clock before I go in then the game thinks whatever day and time I put in on the 3DS is correct.

One time I accidentally tapped the year when changing the DS clock and so when i went into the town there were weeds and a bunch of missing flowers, even though i had the beautiful town ordinance

And I think it caused a lost villager because when I went back to the normal day on the DS Clock and went back into the town, Mira was already in boxes and there wasn't any chance to stop her from leaving.

It was a big flub. I wouldn't time travel that length of time on any method if you want to keep town and villagers nice.
