I leave my shoes on the ground nearby. Another idea would be to put the cooler you get from the fishing tourney on the pier/beach for easy inventory access(i say the cooler because it wouldnt look out of place). Just dump your stuff in there before you go diving and take it back out when you're done. Or if it's more convenient put a storage device by the store so you can change right there after you sell everything.
