when I started this new town I told myself I wasn't going to time travel but I've already done it like 4 different times :( I don't want to restart, I'm just mad I broke my promise to myself smh

Excessive TTing was one of the reasons I wanted to restart before so like I don't want to fall back into doing it a lot...I think the biggest thing that bothered me though was buying villagers since I like it a lot better just getting them naturally/experiencing the fun of random move-ins.

Hi, I'm Ashleigh, and I'm a TT addict.

So what I do to increase the fun of not TTing is give myself a little leniency. I stay within a month of the real date, and I have a list of things I must do before I TT. I have to dig up any buried items, talk to everyone at least twice, visit the dream suite to upload and view a dream, buy any items not in my catalogue, fish and bug hunt for at least 10 minutes each, collect all the shells, shake all the trees, and visit the island and the streetpass plaza if I've passed anyone new. Only then will I allow myself to TT. Once I hit a month away from today's date, the next time I TT I go back to today's date. I give myself a lot of leeway as far as changing the time within the day, because I really don't get to play until after 8 PM which can make things a tad difficult.

I habitually TT forward one day at a time, for 3 or 4 days, just to check on new shop items mainly, then TT back to the right date. maybe if you do it for a limited purpose like that you wont feel badly about it...

I usually just go a day ahead and then back to the real day, usually to refresh shop inventories or get a PWP done faster. Idk, it just makes me feel like I'm cheating the system/not playing how I'm supposed to but I just get so impatient!!

Also I'm always paranoid it'll mess up my progress towards unlocking shops, although it never has :p

Sometimes I feel like the game gave us too much power with TTing. Feeeel the powerrrr.

Anyway, maybe try buying turnips to try to get into the habit of playing day by day? Maybe limit yourself to TT once a week or every two weeks like buy turnips for one week and then TT throughout the following week, rinse and repeat? I also find it helpful to set a daily goal like try to fish or catch bugs or chat up the villagers or plant something.

Remember that there's no rush with the game and no official rule on how to play, so just play the way you feel comfortable the most! It's okay to TT if you want. :)

TTing is what makes animal crossing fun for me! The nice thing is it's optional. Do it if you need to, but some days it's nice to just play and set it down just to pick it up a little later and play again.

I'm perpetually in April 7th-10th so I just tt forward then back.

Hey take from a gal that has never ever played day by day for like 10 years of playing animal crossing

I have slowed down a lot and given my self little tasks to do to keep myself busy for a while
such as maybe doing some lanscaping or maybe earning some bells or simply updating my
house or catching up with the villagers. Just little things to keep myself busy and not want to
TT.

I TT a lot and I find no problems with it. I do it if I need to kick someone out , or if it's in the very beginning of the game or if it's NOTHING to do that day. but I have to do all my chores and stuff before I TT :D

I get you on not wanting to tt. I hate doing it because for some reason im so horrible at it. Even though i talk to my villagers all the time i will tt and one villager will be moving out or another moved in in a spot i hate it being at! I will tt sometimes one day just to get a pwp done, but i still hate it because im afraid i will have someone move in to where i have put flowers or trees, some of my decorations.

i just always go back to the original date before the month ends from tting, but i do tt a lot, at least two days forward in one day irl

I don't sympathize with this at all. I never feel a need to time travel and I never do, unless it's something I highly value. I went back a day for weeding day for example, because I wasn't able to play that day and I'd been wanting those pwps for a long time. I wouldn't time travel to experience other events though, or to progress faster. That doesn't interest me and I'd hate to have things be out of whack, being a bit of a perfectionist.
