Went on my usual nightly Mystery Tour and met up with some grisly, creepy crawly TARANTULA! Why??? Oh why???? LOL Lost count on the times I got bit but managed to snag 9 of the little boogers.
That was a tough one until I realized I could creep up on them with my net up...Had to learn that one the hard way. LOL
I also got to the scorpion island for the first time today. The island is shaped like an arena, but full of flowers and grass. Too bad I was trying to find some beetles (golden stag and horned hercules), so I didn't waste a lot of time there...
i remember coming across tarantula island for the first time, i was so scared and kept getting knocked out lmao
then the other time i saw them i was looking for a villager and i was terrified to see them in the middle. i thought they were going to get attacked lol
tarantula island is for sure a rough experience first time around! I completely forgot they existed honestly - it's been so long since I ended up on one. sneaking is definitely the way to go! if they're on their back legs just don't even think about moving
Same. I don’t think I’ve ever landed on tarantula/scorpion island. And only on rare occasions have I even seen a scorpion or tarantula on a NMT island.
Be prepared to see how the goofy dodos are worried you might have kicked the bucket.
It's a treat to get a tarantula/scorpion island, I'll get bitten like 100 times before I fill my inventory with the critters. It's especially amazing when you catch one and then realize that two others were startled by the net and are coming to get you (and will get you).
i’ve honestly never encountered tarantula/scorpion island and even though they’re definitely a nice way to make some bells, i’m glad lmao. those things give me the creeps and i hate running into them. >_<
I remember the first time I ever came across a scorpion island a while back...
It was horrible. Gave me the creeps, and I got bitten countless times trying to catch a whole heap of them to sell... This was before I started profiting off turnips xD
Felt like I was playing a horror game, not a wholesome ac game
I wish I got tarantula island again. I keep getting the standard islands and its getting tiring. The first time I got tarantula island I was both shocked and happy at the same time
I never could catch a scorpion by sneaking, always got stung. Finally ended up on a scorpion island and worked out that, if I dug a "U" shaped arrangement of holes, I could run and lead them into this corral, and then stand on the outside and net them as they circled around inside. Filled my pockets, but the learning curve was steep and painful.
My only tarantula catch was when one rushed me from the side while I was on a ramp. It circled around at the side while I gathered my wits and netted him. Pure luck!
The best strat I've found for tarantula island is to corner a loner if possible (and make a note of where the other three are), catch it, then move to another corner that was empty. The new one might've spawned there. I avoid getting ganged up on for a while at least just by moving between spawn points and letting the other three do their thing.
so, honestly, spiders and any kind of arachnid have always been a huge fear for me, but when it comes to games or watching videos on them (like educational videos), i'm so interested. and i thought i would be for animal crossing's version, as well, until it took me almost half a year to catch a single predator "bug"
i finally caught my first tarantula at the beginning of december, i believe? i can't even imagine trying my hand at tarantula hunting on an island filled with them, though; i always miss my net swings.
I used to like tarantula/scorpion island back when I didn't have a lot of bells. They were a boon for me because they really brought in the bells. But now that I have a lot of bells, I don't really like them anymore. They scare me.
