Weird occurrence with former villager?

Hi everybody!
So Anchovy was one of my original villagers, and he was also the first that I allowed to move out. I have no idea where he ended up. I'm familiar with the idea that occasionally you'll get a former villager shopping in your shopping district, but Anchovy has been there every day for a week now! For most of it he's been in the same place, too: Gracie's. Does this mean anything in particular, or is it just a weird coincidence? I have this nagging guilty feeling that he's like, stuck in limbo because the town he moved to was destroyed or something. Has this happened to anyone else?
Also happening, though less personally disturbing: I've had a camper every day this week too! Different camper every day though.

It's completely normal. I've had Pietro on my Main Street for over two weeks now. As different villagers move out he will disappear eventually.

Oh! Is that how it works? I didn't realize it had anything to do with current villagers moving out! And thanks for the reassurance lol it's good to know he probably won't be stuck here forever.

That's what people consider the void to be. If you were to clear your void by going into another town that has 10 villagers, you wouldn't see those villagers in your plaza anymore. (I think?)

He's in the void. He'll disappear after more villagers move and take his place.

Edit: Villagers that have been voided or adopted will both appear there.

And they call it the void?? Oh my gosh that's terrible! I'm still laughing though. Okay, so I'll try visiting my boyfriend's town later and see if that fixes it. Thank you!

It's definitely normal. One day mine started showing up in the Shopping District and they've been there since.

As was mentioned above, they'll cycle out as more leave from your town.

Hahaha oh my gosh, I had none for like a month before this, and now EVERY DAY. It's been so weird! And I've had some really cute ones too, like I had Cookie and I was so mad because I already have ten.

I really wasn't sure how this worked.I have never had villagers in my Joy and farm town on my main street.But my Critters town has about 4 that are often there.They have been hanging around for a couple of months now.Mostly it's Lolly.I gave her away over a month ago.

I was so upset. I thought that I was going to get away with not having to look at Ronald once he moved out, and just today he showed up in my shopping district. It was a sad time.

I've had at least two former villagers in my Gracie's ever since it opened.I also have at least three more walking around Main Street or in Able Sisters.Well,at least there aren't any that I really hate.

They won't go away unless you have moved 16 villagers out after them. I have no plans to do that, so I know I'll be stuck seeing Clay and Hippeaux until the sun engulfs the earth and removes them from my town once and for all.

This is so cute. I was so confused when Katt wouldn't leave my plaza for like, two weeks. Just Katt.

But now I get excited to see who pops up.

Muffy's been on my main street for a week! She moved out maybe a month ago.
It doesn't bother me really. I think it's actually kind of cool to have past villagers show up in the game for a whiel.

I hate having to void, but I can not find an adopter for one now and it looks like I must so does that mean if I ask someone with ten to let me drop by he won't get passed anywhere.
