Weird glitch

There's like 3-4 squares near my house where I can't change the path - was originally dirt path, try to change it and acts like it does but nothing changes. Tried using terraforming to get rid of old paths - acts like it's shovelling away those spaces but they don't disappear. Tried adding water - get water particle effects upon motion of adding water - but those few squares remain unchanged. Anyone else experienced this/similar bugs? Definitely a bug as aware how construction is meant to work... :(

I've heard of some bug that, if you put down pathing and then put a building over top of it, that you can't remove that pathing even if you moved the building later. Did you used to have a building in that spot? If not, maybe it's related to that bug regardless.

Hmm... putting a build over paths destroys them, though.

In this case I think it doesn't? If I'm not mistaken, the original thread for this actually found out about the glitch by moving the building because they were pissed the path stayed there

Wow this is really messed up if I can't get rid of the path/terrain in that place! Been sort of passing off the glitches but worse and worse seem to be appearing. How on earth in a paid game like this, when I'm now also forced to subscribe to nintendo online just to do what I could in other games, is this happening?? Losing faith here, rapidly... do nintendo already acknowledge this issue or not?

Try moving a house over it just to see what happens to it in the preview? Most notably in the spot in front of the house, that portion that appears transparent in the targeting stencil which accepts paths when the house is standing but removes them when the plot is placed. If the path persists even in that preview then something certainly seems wrong...

Thanks for the help! Was just about to be re-annoyed as don't even have the IGB currently to try that - however thought I'd try again, started chipping away at the offending area with the cliff tool - it's working fine now?! Was firstly thinking that it was the in game day changing that did it - however I'm in a weird sleeping pattern rn and this happened past 5am (UK time) so the in game day had already started when the issue happened, and same day now just later...?? Didn't even turn the game off, just had it on standby and resumed it this evening! I may be wrong here but I feel like I did try quitting the game and re-opening it last night to see if it fixed this and it didn't - but my memory is hazy there, I may be wrong!!

Hopefully people don't think I'm making this up now, as I've read some questionable instances on here of some possibly made up possibly not glitches (not talking about the seemingly very real one involving multiplayer gaming sessions being closed with the - button) but this did 100% happen last night and did try to get a few videos at the time although unsure if they were clear so will have a look!!

If anything hopefully this is reassuring to others as my glitch (fingers crossed!!) seems to have fixed itself as quickly as it went wrong??

Thanks!!

Did manage to capture it on video - although I found it very hard doing things whilst holding down the video button haha! So if anyone wants proof this happened/is interested to see I can try and upload them :)

Glitches happen. Code is complicated. They've released like 6 bug patches already. Every time they add code, there are going to be things that interact...its literally impossible to avoid.

Almost all games fix big bugs like us. The few that don't usually go out of business.

I have this bug and don't have the IGB to move it back and forth, so I think I'm just going to be hopeful for a patch.

It's not great...but I don't enough to spend 50K bells moving it, 50K bells to try get rid of the tiles, then 100K to move it back and forth again lol, so I'll just have to leave it for now.

Yeah you're right and it's good to see them fixing bugs quickly like they have done eg the hot air balloon one! Was just really frustrated last night - but read my more recent post, it's literally fixed itself for no apparent reason?! Strange...

That looks really similar to my glitch however my affected area was further away from the building - couldn't change paths like shown here, couldn't destroy cliffs, add water, anything. However read my more recent post as it's literally fixed itself completely for no apparent reason?! Which I find really strange... hopefully yours will do the same!! How long has it been like it for?

Oh I see, that's great it's been fixed for you. Mine's still glitched and has been since April 25th

Oh wow that's awful :( I really hope it gets fixed - or mysteriously fixes itself - really soon! As QueenOpossum mentioned it should be, especially on such a well known name by such a big company! Good luck!
Thank you! It's not game-breaking so it's not bothering me too much, but I'm hoping they pick up on it eventually since it doesn't seem to be that common.
