Weird... all of my villagers move into the SAME SPOT every time.

With the new Wisp and amiibo update, I decided to scan in Flurry and kick Flip out while doing so.
Flurry is all set to move into town, Flip is packing his boxes and leaves the next day.
But Flurry's house plot is in the exact same spot that Flip was in?

And then I tried kicking Flurry out and replacing her with Fauna. Then Fauna decided to set up her house in the EXACT SAME SPOT that Flurry was living in.

Is this happening to anyone else? Not sure why it's happening, but it's very annoying.

People have been posting that villagers will no longer plot on patterns you place on the ground, ( unless there is no other patternless space available). I just layed paths all over in one of my towns, but left a 3x3 space for where I wanted Coach to plot. It worked like a charm. Is there a chance that Flurry's spot was the only spot available? Does the rest of the town have lots of patterns and pwp's ?

Apparently Amiibo scanned villagers have a higher chance of moving in on the villager who was kicked out's spot.

My town is just getting started (I restarted cx) so I only have around 10% of my town covered.

Oh. I didn't know that. It's strange because it's happened at least 8 times.

^ This. I have seen it happen multiple times from other people's experiences on youtube. I have only moved one in when I had 9 villagers, so this did not happen for me.

I think it's to do with the programming. The game wasn't originally made for villagers to be "kicked out" so they had to patch it in somehow. I think they did that by coding the new villager to replace the old one, but they had to place them in the same spot.

This is accurate! They will plot elsewhere but it's not as likely. You can use the throwaway character method to just keep restarting the morning of the move in until it's plotted where you want it to be
