Weeds not growing

I've been searching around the forum for information about this, but none of the tips I found have worked...

I've been TTing one week at a time to try and get a patch of weeds to grow taller, but so far I've had zero progress. I removed all other weeds on the island, but still no tall weeds on the spot I want them.

Anyone know what might be going on?

Weeds grow a lot faster if you water them, so if you haven't already been doing so then definitely try that.

I don't think watering weeds does anything. Mine tend to grow faster when they are touching other weeds.

Yeah watering hasn't done anything... And I do had thick pathches of weeds, but I still havent had any luck...

I've also read up on this as I wanted to grow weeds inside a fenced of cemetery plot and I got them to grow.

I found that having flower planted next to the weeds (right next to them) and then watering the flower (watering weeds alone doesn't seem to do anything, but watering the flower next to it, does), made the weeds next to that flower grow to full bloom within a couple of days.

I moved the flower and planted it next to any weed that didn't grow and repeated the process and it made them grow.

Don't bother TT'g.
My method worked.

Rain also helps but having the weeds you want to grow, touching a flower seems to be the key.
For me at least.

The official acnh guide has the percentages for watering weeds at the following:
stage 1 > stage 2 growth rate: no water 20% and water 50%
stage 2 > stage 3 growrth rate: no water 5% and water 10%

There's also a maximum of 150 weeds on your island (that naturally occur without planting more), there's also a maximum that can be fully grown that isn't listed in the guide but a tumblr user did confirm there is one by plucking adult weeds and the younger ones started growing again!

I'll try Wick's method, because I've tried growing weeds before and had no luck doing so I've read around that there are some island that have weeds that don't grow at all? Is that true or could it just be a glitch? Mine just don't grow at all :/ The worst part is that I love weeds and try to place lots of them around my island.

If you get a stubborn one, just pick it and replant it.

I have a grave plot with black roses in each corner and weeds in between, so every weed is touching a flower.
Then I watered the flowers and by day three, most of them were fully grown.
Some took a few days longer, but eventually flowered after a couple more days.
