Weeding day?

All my villagers keep talking about weeding day. What's it about? Do I let weeds grow? Do I not let them grow? I'm lost . Some villagers tell me to tidy up while others tell me to let weeds grow :/

its the day where you smoke up

but seriously, if you let weeds grow you can get exclusive weeding day furniture from leif for picking the weeds. if there aren't any weeds at start of the day though, then you unlock 3 different topiary pwps to use
