1) Tell someone they can come use your Shampoodle and then disappear before they do so.....

I seriously feel bad. I got into a long conversation with my sister and forgot about the game when someone was waiting to come over.

Ah, I'm sure they'd understand - sometimes real life gets in the way :) I've gotten distracted and botched online trades before too.

2. Forget about trades in general until weeks later. accept that you're scum. "why didn't you like my post?!"

True true. I just don't like telling people I'm going to do something then not do it. Now here I am, missing out on watching anime and refreshing the page waiting for them to log back on.

Make a big progress in the game and then turn off the console...Without saving. Have fun with Resetti.

Or forget to plug in your 3DS and it dies on you and you forgot to save for a long time XD that ALMOST happened to me. I was downstairs getting some lunch and forgot to plug my 3DS in and it was dead battery light was flashing when I came back

Yeah, this is getting sad. I need to stop obsessing about this. Sitting here, refreshing the page isn't going to do anything. I need to find something to do.

Accidentally deleting your town while trying to remove an extra player's home, I think before the update was way worst since you didn't have a double warning and Tom Nook appearing afterwards.
The only way for it to happen now is if you have a brand new town or you can't sit on your town's tree yet.

I can't believe this thread is here today, right now! I just remembered about 1/2 hour ago that I had an appointment for a trade with someone in Australia two hours ago! So I am now sitting here refreshing, checking that I really did miss the trade, feeling bad because I almost always remember this stuff (I write it on my real life organizer, for Pete's sake!). :(

We had this planned almost a week ago...

Run.
Just running is a fool-proof way to fail.

I'm defiant, so I run all the time in my own town regardless of what ways the game might see fit to punish me for doing so.

At least now I (mostly) avoid destroying my flowers, since I caved and started using paths.

I've done this too many times, always unintentionally though. I do that to my villagers too, like I'll set up hang out plans and be like oh yeah totally, and then be too busy landscaping or end up switching to my side character and totally forget... One time I forgot about plans right after making them, and then the same villager pinged me while I was fishing so I couldn't click them fast enough, then when I went to talk to them they said they couldn't make it, and i was like "oh my god, i'm so glad because I freaking forgot!" but yeah I feel so bad when I flake on real people and my villagers...

The only other fails I've really done were accidentally erasing a design and not having it saved anywhere so I had to remake it, thankfully it was a path where the pieces were close enough I only had to "re-make" the border bit after copying it but it was still irritating. I've also popped balloons tripping which is the SADDEST THING EVER!

Forget to path down the smallest areas and of course a villager plot down there... I know you can do the side-character trick but still smh how do they?? I have plenty of other space where they can so??

Holding an ice cream cone you got at the HH Showcase and thinking you /totally/ won't accidentally press A (I pressed A :( ). Also running while holding a balloon, tripping, and letting go of the ribbon.
