Waterfall confusion

I'm trying to land a char and a king salmon. My guide says they are waterfall fish and the wiki says I need to be looking in the little bit of water in front of the fall but which one? I have maybe an inch of water at the far left of the river that has a waterfall and the bigger pool where the right side meets the ocean?

I found the king salmon at the bottom of the waterfall that empties into the ocean. It could actually be caught from the beach or by standing on the cliff overlooking the waterfall.

I think I found the char in the river close to the waterfall. It might have been at the top of the waterfall that empties into the ocean, but I can't remember for sure. But I think the char has a bit more range than the king salmon, so you can look anywhere close to either waterfall. It doesn't have to be right under it.

I can tell you the char is found in the waterfall that pours into the ocean. You'll find it at the bottom of the waterfall. I would recommend using the save and continue method to refresh your town every once in a while because I believe the Char is somewhat rare.

I had the same experience with the Char - I found it in the small section just before the ocean where the waterfall pours into. However, I had no idea about the Save and Continue method. I wish I did know about it, it would've saved me so much time!

I found the king salmon right in the area of the waterfall/beach swimming. it was in the mini pool of water, (between the 2)

I thought it was a marlin or something lol

I caught mine standing on top of the waterfall , but ive mainly seen the fish appear within the splash zone of the waterfall

Anytime you choose save and continue, it will reset the fish and bugs that spawn. The same thing goes for entering and exiting a building.

I found mine below the waterfall that empties into the ocean. The save and continue button really helps to find them or really just about any fish or bug. Good luck!

If I remember correctly, the salmon (and king salmon) are located in the ocean part of the waterfall earlier in the month and then migrate up the waterfall to the river in the later part of the month. Maybe someone else can confirm?

I actually didnt know where to find chars until i saw this thread, I now know what im doing tonight to finish off my fish for this month

I think the waterfall fish start in the ocean during the beginning of the month then move up ward to the top of the waterfall in the river towards the end of the month
