So I TT'd 1 day and I talked to Eugene, and his catchphrase was Cocos. Doyoing. wat. I dont remember changing his catchphrase......omg, I have no idea. Whatever happened to "Yeah buddy!"?!?

Can anyone explain this? Did they become like BFFs or something? Because then again, Smug are the "gentlemen" of the personalitys...no wonder they would share the same catchphrase....DId anything like hthis happen to you guys?

Even when you're not playing or talking to them, villagers will sometimes change their clothing, catchphrases or furniture from talking to other villagers. It gets really annoying sometimes. =3=

Yep, the animals totally share catchphrases with each other >_< I'm annoyed at my villagers because Marshal has started saying Graham's catchphrase "Golden". Hopefully I'll get a chance to change it back at some point.

Villagers can pick up catchphrases from each other while the game is running. Usually you'll see them be happy once they have changed their clothes or catchphrase, singing the town tune.

Yeah that happens to me quite a bit also, Punchy changed his catchphrase to Muffy's catchphrase, then they sometimes change their shirt to a different villagers shirt, It sometimes gets annoying if the shirt doesn't look good on them, but I really don't mind about their catchphrase xD

Punchy in my old town started saying "bo peep" which is Willows catchphrase and Marina was saying "honk honk". Sprinkle was saying "alpha" like she's the pack leader or something lol. I think it's cute that they pick it up from another but when it doesn't even fit them i don't like it. If Muffy picked up "bo peep" i would have been fine with it :/

That was what I HATED about Wild World. I would give them a particular shirt/phrase/whatever, and they'd constantly change it by talking to anther villager! At least now you can have them back to default by complaining to Isabelle. That's one of the changes I LOVE about New Leaf.

back in wild world i remember whitneys annoying catchphrase was EVERYONE's lol. right after time travelling.
i hated her so it was unfortunate for me.

Similar has happened to me. One of my villagers used to call me june bug then suddenly a bunch of other villagers were saying it too without asking. I was like '...why is everyone calling me this?!'

june bug is kind of cute at least c: skye and pecan call me "dearie". sounds like something your grandma would call you! [then again, i did agree to it ;w;]

I now choose villager greetings and catchphrases based on the assumption they will spread without me doing anything. At one point my town had a mouse that greeted me by going 'quack' as well as a cat, mouse, duck and octopus who had a catchphrase of 'purr.' I am easily amused.
