was new horizons your first animal crossing game?

The GameCube version was my first AC game I ever played. New Horizons was the first AC game I’ve played in about 10 years though since I never played New Leaf.

Played every other main series AC game besides New Leaf though.

I'm so glad that I gave this game a chance, as I've only seen youtube vids of the past games... and they didn't really click with me, but perhaps it was more the fault of the content creator than the games themselves.

It's a fantastic game, not perfect but still fantastic.
I'm just torn between earning everything the hard way or attending trade parties for example

No wonder you missed out on what was good, and if you had played Wild World, you would've experienced what was truly great.

Yes and No.
New Leaf was the first AC game I bought and own even if I already knew well the licence because one of my cousin is a big fan since Wild World.
But I did not spend months on New Leaf, I have to admit I got bored of it a bit quickly... It's the first time I fall in love with an AC game with NH, I already spent like 235 hours on it without TT and I intend to continue playing it for a long time.

Yes! Switch is my first Nintendo console so I never had the chance to play the previous games. Tbh while watching NH gameplay videos I wasn't really feeling it but in the end I thought I'd still give it a go because of it's popularity and I'm so glad I did, I love it it's the game I've played the most ever since getting a Switch.

I'm not sure if it was 2 days. might have been a little bit longer. I was scared of mr resetti because I often forgot to save before closing the game.
also, I don't know if I remember this correctly but villagers could ask you to come over to hang out at a certain time, and I would forget and disappoint them. and then there was the villagers choosing random locations to plant their houses. often in places where I didn't like.

i wasn't really enjoying my time playing. so I quit before I truly got into it
