was new horizons your first animal crossing game?

My first was Wild World! It was incredible to see how AC evolved over the years.

i've played all the games but the gamecube one! which i wish i could experience lol. CF was technically my first (i played WW after), and it is still v magical to me aha. it's great to be playing on the tv again.

ACNL was my first introduction to the Animal Crossing series. Comparing the two, ACNH is a disappointment.

It was City Folk first for me because my dad got it for our Wii somewhere around 2008-2010. Don't remember much of it tbh, remember collecting the lovely set and K.K. Ska was my favorite song. Then I found out about Wild World's existence so I asked for it. Didn't know it was the game before CF, but I had it for years and enjoyed it up until I got NL, at which point I stopped playing WW and let my dad sell the cartridge - regrettable decision but that's what he always did with games we didn't play anymore, we never just had old games sitting around. Same happened to my NL cartridge in 2015 because after 2 years I was bored of it, done playing lol. Never played welcome amiibo

I tried out Pocket Camp when it came out, but it required a strong internet connection I don't have and also ate up my battery like crazy. Then I preordered NH, first and only video game I have ever preordered because I had that much trust in the new anticipated Switch AC game.

I'm aware NH is not ~*perfect*~ but since I don't remember past games all that well and don't have much nostalgia for NL like I do for WW, I think that helps me enjoy NH because I'm not comparing them all the time, I'm just taking it for what it is, and what it is is still enjoyable to me. I have thought about getting WW again for my 2DS, just to play around with it again, but I don't miss NL at all tbh. I had my fun with it and now Idc about it lol

Nope. First one I played was on the GameCube in 2001. For some reason it caught my attention so I played it for hours. I missed out on Wild World, but played the others except the spin-offs.

I joined the series really late. We didn't have Nintendo consoles (last one was N64) so I missed out on early games.

The first game I played was Happy Home Designer when it came out. My cousin had a 3ds and mentioned she really liked Animal Crossing, so took a chance and bought the HHD bundle and loved it. I know it's not the most complete or loved game, but I enjoyed it a lot. Later I got New Leaf because of all the good reviews and to experience the full game, and liked it even more.
I bought a Switch just for ACNH. I'm happy that I did because some of the other Nintendo games are great, too.

New Horizons is my first game in quite a while! I loved the Gamecube version and played a ton of it when I was younger. Then I bought New Leaf but didn't really get into it since I was focused on grad school and personal stuff at the time. But now I'm back and completely hooked again :)

Yes, New Horizons was my first game! When I was a bit younger, I didn't like animal crossing. I finally watched the New Horizons trailer and decided I wanted to try it! I actually played Pocket Camp while I waited for the game to be delivered, but I don't think that really counts as my first game. I recently picked up a copy of New Leaf, and now I play that too. I'm really happy I have animal crossing a chance!

Yes! Never had much of an idea what Animal Crossing games were like, it always seemed vaguely Farmville-esque, but I am completely hooked. I love this game so much.

City Folk was my first game, then played Wild World. Then New Leaf, now I'm here.

Will need to play the gamecube version someday but the price is...yeah...

It wasn’t my first.
My first game was technically Wild World. I don’t remember all that much because I was pretty young. I do remember playing it on long car trips and that my fruit was cherries and my favorite villager was Roald, but he moved away without telling me.
My second was City Folk, and I remember I ran so much that my town was a dirt pit with pear trees. My siblings and I played that together, and I’d get home and call my friend on our landline phone to play after school.
I loved New Leaf a lot, and traded online a good bit. That’s why I joined here!
I have since played the GC version, but WW was the first one I played.

No, Population Growing was my first and I’ve played every one after that. Even the spin offs (except Amiibo Festival). I still have vivid memories of playing the first game, it means the world to me and I’m very happy that I started with the very first one and got to see how the series grew.
I do miss how more “middle of the forest” the GC game felt. None of the games so far has hit that note quite as well, I do miss it plenty sometimes.

In a way yes, but in a way no.

Let me explain... It is my first Animal Crossing game since coming out publicly as a trans woman, but I actually have been playing since Wild World in 2005.

So both yes and no.

title says it all :)

i personally haven't played NH, but i'm interested to hear your answers!
I started with New Leaf. My wife wanted to play a game on her 3DS so I told her to get NL because it was newly released at the time (I knew nothing about the series). I watched her play for a bit and thought that it looked like a fun new game for me to try and I ended up getting so hooked that I was stealing all of her playtime (whoops!). I bought my own copy and the rest is history. I actually wasn't too interested in NH until I saw that furniture could be placed outside and terraforming was a thing.

Nope, City Folk back in 2007 was the first time I played an Animal Crossing game!

My first AC was Population Growing on the Gamecube. Still my favorite game in the series too.

Nope. New Leaf was my first Animal Crossing game and I still play it to this day after five years of getting it. I missed out on the games before it though, and apparently the dialogue is drastically better. I can definitely see where they're coming from, but some of the rudeness goes a little overboard. Now that I think about it, I'm tempted to try out Wild World and perhaps City Folk.

No, my first Animal Crossing was the one on the gamecube. It wasn't released here in europe by then so we ended up importing a US copy. I hadn't played anything like it so it was a truly magical experience.
