Wait, a new characters house can tear down a previously built pwp?

Okay, so I got a new character built so I can try to get Cranston moved out. I put the house over near Cranston's house for maximum taunting as I ignore him with my new character (according to the guide, I have to ignore him with this new character for him to move) but I had a water pump over there for some reason and Tom Nook just tore it down to build my new house. Since when can we just rip out PWP to build houses?

I do have question, should I ignore Cranston with my mayor too? For people that used this same method.

On the pwp question, yes, a new character will delete the pwp. That's how I removed a few of mine in my old town since I didn't have money to waste on a removal fee.

Yeah it's always been that way. It's not a new thing with the WA update. I actually considered using it a few times to remove pwps I no longer wanted (and have) because you aren't required to pay off the removal fee. It'd be different if Nook added the additional fee to your existing home loan.

Then again, even if he did, you could always just delete the alt and get away with it.

It doesn't work for pwps actually. Isabelle will just say that the project is way too close to the obstruction. (pwp, house, whatever)

Can they destroy permanent pwps? I doubt it, but that would be so helpful.

It's actually pretty useful to be honest. it saves money and you don't have do that annoying 'Wait a day for this to be torn down' nonsense this game insists on having.
