I spent pretty much all of my tbt, all my nook mile tickets at the time and 1/3 of my bells in my abd on Raymond. No regrets, though I do admit it would have been more fun to find him on an island or in my campsite (though that would mean I wouldn’t have gotten to meet @kazaf who traded me him and that would be a shame since he is really nice) and to have met other villagers before finding him.
If I didn’t have the amiibo cards and my luck was moot at campsite and island hopping, I’d definitely trade what necessary for my BFF Punchy and possibly for Kiki as well. I just love his expressions so much and Kiki’s squished looking nose

Here's a guide to getting that emote!
Go to general in the settings app on a phone or iPad
Click on keyboard
Click on keyboards
Click "add keyboard"
Scroll down until you find "Japanese"
Click Japanese
Click the "Romaki" option
Click the little world icon so the keyboard transitions to Japanese
Click the ^_^ face that is in the corner where ' would be on the english keyboard
Click the arrow that points down next to the row of faces on top and bam! （＾_＾）^_^(*´ω｀*)((o(^∇^)o)) lots of faces!

thank goodness for amiibo because for me it's my smug boys of course. in exchange for a no sweat experience getting marshal, it was a struggle as you'd expect trying to get raymond.

for me it would be either raymond or marshal or if i'm lucky enough then both! i feel like i've been incredibly lucky anyway because i found all of my dream villagers (so far) while island hopping (which brought me a lot of joy) and i plan to save up on NMTs (i'm out atm rip) and try to find them this way too but i feel like it's gonna be too much of a struggle for me to even enjoy the process of finding them. :0 hopefully both of them will show up at my campsite or something one day randomly.

Oh my gosh, this is not exactly the topic but I love love love Cole and his stupid cute face too! Not the most constructive comment, but I love him. I got really lucky about a month ago and found him on my 11th island while island hopping. Really hope you have similar luck!

I pretty much did sell my soul for Dom! I needed him, so I shelled out majorly. Big splurge! But I finally purged some of my NMTs in storage I guess, haha! Thought I would have to do the same for Judy or trade Raymond for her but I found her super easily. It can be so hard, though, when you're coming up empty looking for someone specific!
