Villagers you used to dislike but have grown to love?

Which villagers in New Horizons did you used to dislike but have grown to love, and why is that?

For me, it's Gaston. It wasn't like I went out of my way to remind myself of my disliking for him, but I never thought about him much. Now he's one of my top 5 favorite villagers. I love everything about him.

I could also add Claude. I wasn't a fan at all until I saw an adorable video someone posted on Twitter of their Claude singing K.K. Metal with Rocket and Hamphrey. It was so adorable that I started to question why I disliked him, and it grew from there.

i never disliked her but i never really cared for tammy. she was one of my starters and while she’s not permanent, i’ve really grown attached to her! she gave me her pic earlier this week, my first in new horizons, and i really like having her around! i’ll be sad to see her leave ;;

Definitely Snooty. She moved in randomly and I was like, seriously? But I've grown to love her! I'm not planning to keep her permanently (at least rn - I've given her too much terrible clothing lol) but I think I'll kick her out and bring her back later on. Most people hate her, but she's definitely grown on me!

I had beardo move in when I built too many houses at once and I thought it sucked not getting someone I didn't have control over and I didn't think I'd like the old man, but honestly I really started to like him, he is a funny nice old man sometimes he would sing which was funny and cute for an older man but he reminds me of my parents somewhat who like more antique furniture but he has a great beard! and some hair I would recommend him as an unpopular villager if anyone wants an island villager theme of them!

I originally didn’t like Doc because I thought he was a little too bright blue for my taste lol. But, while I did eventually let him move out, I had grown to really like him. I wouldn’t mind having him on my island again sometime. c:

Julian annoyed me in New Leaf but I find him super charming in New Horizons.

I don't really dislike any, even the ones who look like the north end of a south-bound cow.

I never thought I'd take to Claude the way I have, being a forced villager.. but I couldn't bring myself to let him go.

He's awesome to me, now.

Coach! He was my starter jock, I didn't like him at first and now I like him. I got him amiibo card after the game came out.
I plan on letting him move out when he asks now that I have his photo, but he really grew on me.
I never really liked any of the bull villagers much before I showed up on my island to see that yellow boy. He's a real sweetheart.

Coach! He was my starter jock, I didn't like him at first and now I like him. I got him amiibo card after the game came out.

Coach was my starter too, and I amiibo'd Teddy in to replace him, but I miss the lil dude.

Claude has so much personality in his design. I love his smirk.

I didn’t like Deli when he moved in as a lazy starter because of his eyes, but I must say he grew on me and I got used to him after a while. He also gave me his picture as well.

I didn’t dislike her, but had never really looked for a penguin villager, then I got Aurora as a random move in and she’s really grown on me, plus her interior design in her home is beautiful

hans was my first camper, the one you have to take. at first i was kinda meh about him just because i really love a lot of the other smugs (where are you jacques my child)
but he's a freaking yeti. he's actually adorable. his house is ice themed. the goofy little hat he wears when it rains. his :O face he randomly makes. he's just so cute, i really love him and his design. the unique villagers that are a certain species but also not (eg. julian is a horse technically but he's a unicorn, knox is a chicken but also a knight, hans is a yeti) are some of the coolest to me. they really stand out. they just wanna play and have fun too like the "cute" villagers. giving a chance to em feels really heartwarming cause you fall in love with them without even realizing ^^

I guess Teddy. I was more indifferent about him in New Leaf but when he was my starter jock in NH, he stayed for a while. He was funny.

I still dont like butch but he won a point when he was the first to wear my t shirt design

Rocco. He moved in randomly and I wasn’t impressed. I hit him with my net multiple times to vent my frustration (yes, you can call me cruel for this, but that’s a different topic to discuss). I did feel bad, however and so I started to build my friendship with him by giving him stuff every day. I did it to the point where I didn’t really mind Rocco anymore and started appreciating him more. Now it feels like it’s going to be tough letting him go. My heart gives in so easily lol.

I didn't dislike him, but I never knew who Spike was until he moved in. Now he's one of my favourites

Axel. I didn't really care for him before new horizons, but he was one of my starting villagers and he really grew on me.

I used to hate Quilson so much. He was my forced campsite move-in, and I just thought he seemed like a stuck-up rich boy, but since I've really come to love him, and he ended up being the first villager to give me their photo! I never thought I would ever want that duck to stick around in my town, but now I don't know if I can let him go. I guess he's permanent now.
