I prefer Rosie's Japanese, it's Bouquet in Japan. I also love Kiki's Japanese name, Caviar!

I also love Rhonda's, it's Yumeko which would mean "dream child" written in kanji.

I also prefer Zucker's Japanese name, Takoya. The name "Zucker" did grow on me, but my first thought was "why didn't they keep 'Takoya'? He's modeled after friggin' takoyaki!"

Yeah, I do realize that not many people in the west are even going to know what takoyaki is, but I feel like they should've kept it anyway, because it would've been a really cool reference to Japanese food for the people who do know about it.

Peanut is "Momoko" - apparently she is quite popular in Japan, more than in other regions

Cobb is "Hakase" or Professor - and that is what he truly is!!! He is a Professor Pig! Perfect. He should be called Professor in all regions.

Angus is "Serubantesu" or Cervantes in Japanese and Spanish/Europe? Way better than Angus. He's a great guy. And Cervantes is in reference probably to Don Quixote! He is a very old, very wise bull.

There are probably others, but those are the ones I think about most often.

Daisy and Goldie are Vanilla and Caramel which I like. I also think it's cute that that super hero villagers are just numbers 1-4 in Japanese.

I have Camofrog moving out soon. After reading this, and being such a Phantom Pain junkie, maybe I should reconsider letting him go... although I do have a policy that anyone who wants to leave can leave...

I didn't mention Cheri / Acerola!
I flipped out when I saw her Japanese name. I have lately gotten into these Vitamin C supplements with Acerola cherry - I want her in my town so badly but I have no room!

I also like Yasmine better than Pekoe.

And broccolo has always felt like a typo and not a real name.

These are the English and Japanese names of my dreamies:

Eugene - Rocky
Alfonso - Aruberuto
Melba - Adelaide
Felicity - Mikacchi
Poppy - Gummy

Melba has the best one out of my dreamies IMO.

I like margie's japanese name (Sarii)
I think margie is kind of an old woman's name, Sarii sounds a lot better ):
