Villagers you hated until you experienced them

I have to say upon starting New Leaf in November, I read forums about ugly villagers and saw Hazel there sometimes. I googled her and thought she was soooo ugly as I began adopting Marshal, Diana, etc. Just last week, I needed a new uchi after getting so bored of Phoebe. I saw a giveaway post for Hazel and was like...I'll just do it. I honestly am so happy with her. I like the squirrels (Peanut is in my town and is my favorite of the squirrels), and she has really grown on me. I'm never bored of her at all, where I got tired of Phoebe, Cherry, and Fuchsia. What villager did you hate until you got to know them?

shari. the only reason why i hated her was because i saw her as an ugly villager that nobody wanted. i tried getting her to leave my town for literally a month with a lot of time traveling, but it didn't work. i gave up and just let her stay, built up our friendship by talking to her a lot and doing errands for her. she's one of my favorite villagers now

Rocket's one of my starting villagers, I didn't like her and wanted her to move out. Back then I didn't know much, if anything, about ACNL at all (the whole series for that matter) so I didn't know there are personality types. For the longest time she was the only one to have ever give me medicine whenever she saw my bees-induced swollen face and she did that constantly. She's still not exactly my favourite, but now I don't want her to move out. I can't see my town with any other uchi.

His face is weird but I talk with him since the first game

I thought she was kinda ugly at first, but she ended up being one of my fav uchis ever xD she's so cute!

I used to not care about him at all but one day i visited a dream address and chief was in it and he was wearing this really cute pink school girls outfit (xD) and i decided to adopt him from one of my friends and ever since then he just has to be in my town

Wart Jr tbh. I had him as a starter in my third town and my first reaction was 'ooooh lord not HIM anything but that', but then as I befriended him so he would move, he actually was a pretty nice villager despite his appearance. His house exterior was totally terrible and I did eventually end up letting him go (his house was where I wanted my camp site) but he wasn't all that bad. He's not quite as ugly in-game as he looks in photos.

He was a starter for me too but I will admit I never warmed up to him. He is the only villager in New Leaf I intentionally hit with a net, which isn't nice but...it is true.

He was in my first ever town and I really didn't know much about him besides everyone I knew hated him cuz he is so ugly. Lol But once he moved into my town randomly I started just talking to him and fell in love. So much so that after I deleted my first town I knew I wanted him again in my second town.

Canberra and Bam.

Canberra: Initially I thought she's a totally rude uggo that lives beside my first mayor's house and I was so annoyed that I have to live my everyday life in my first ACNL town seeing her face as the first thing I see when I play the game. But she's cool and eventually became friendly towards my mayor, I like her house and she was kind enough to give me medicine when nobody did.

Bam: I'm really disappointed at his awful house placing, and I remember him as that one persistent camper I always turn down on my first town. I'm neutral towards Bam at first, though I had a small chunk of irritability at his prescence, but he's so quick to make friends with my mayor. I like how Bam always opens his doors for the mayor so they can spend some time. That's true, I actually like Bam now to the point I keep on giving him fancy refurbished furniture!

When I got Elmer in my first town I kind of hated him because he called me tenderfoot and he was kind of ugly... but once I got to know him he became my first best friend on ACNL and I loved him so much. I plan to get him back in my newest farm themed town because I miss having him around.

quillson. when i first got him, my initial reaction was "eww this villager's ugly he needs to get out". it also doesn't help that he plotted his house right in front of mine. but i just got used to him as time went on, knowing that it'll take a long time for him to finally move out. even if he may not be one of my favourites, i still have a soft spot for him thanks to his personality and the times i spent with him.

I was unhappy when Boone moved in and I saw him, but I immediately fell in love after we talked once or twice. He's a pretty funny guy.

Gala, Miranda and Pudge. I thought they were all ugly, all disoriented, all useless

Aw yeah Gala especially is awesome. I love my 3 normals too much to make room for her though.

Jeremiah... i hated him until he finally budged and moved... now when i see him in my HHD town... i kinda miss him

lol Hazel just changed into a Natty Tee I gave her. It's totally not suiting for her personality but she really looks even cuter. I never thought a squirrel with a unibrow would finally make me like the uchi personality.

Edit: Oh now she's even cuter because I changed her into a brown houndstooth tee. It fits her personality so well!

Ed was a move-in from the void, and I was so annoyed when he turned up because I just managed to get another void move-in to leave my town. I really need room for an uchi, and I already have two smugs I really like. But I like his design and his house is quite nice. I've really grown to like K.K. Ballad.

I'm happy to have him until I get his picture and he volunteers to move out. There's no rush for him to leave.

Croque and Cyrano. They have both moved and stayed quite long in my town, and are both crankies-I started liking them more when I found out they have a different way of enjoying their way of living I guess and at first they seemed kind of out of the loop so I sometimes forget to pay more attention to them xD
