in this game, it was sheldon. he moved in from the void when i was trying to get bob from someone on here, and i was mad at first, but then...he arrived...and oh my god, his face is just so expressive and hilarious; he looks so distraught when he can’t catch a fish. he made me actually enjoy the jock personality because on him it seemed at least a little bit ironic. also, i swear he is friends with EVERYBODY. if anyone’s visiting someone, there’s a 90% chance one of those villagers will be him. also, he talks about marshal to butch a lot, and it’s hilarious. god, i love sheldon.
edit: he once crafted a leaf and then a pear dress 3 times in a row. he was like “whoa, where’d you learn to craft this?” and i was like FROM YOU, SHELDON! that gave me a good laugh. but seriously, though...is he trying to make a pear dress and leaf salad or something?!
I had Lolly as my random normal move in and I really never expected to like her as much as I like her now lol she was not part of my dreamie lineup (it was Kiki/Coco orginally) but she's just so adorable that I adjusted my dreamie lineup and added her instead of the two supposed normal villager I would have had, so now she's a permanent resident in my island lol, she's stuck with the plain starter house tho which is sad but I already gave her the Ironwood set plus some recolor of her original furnitures and some others that would match her house so it's not too bad now than it is before, she's moving the things on her table tho and adjusting it EVERYDAY so that's kinda annoying, because other times she'll arrange it perfectly but most of the time, it just doesn't look good so yeah AHAHAHAHA but still I love her and she can never leave my island now lol
Marshal. I never had him in new leaf bc I've always prioritized Julian, but I met him while island hopping and was gonna maybe sell or trade him some day but that quickly changed bc he is overwhelmingly adorable so instead I'm gonna change my island plans to accommodate him. He's not allowed to leave everrr.
Murphy. This is the first time I've met him, and he's so adorable for someone who's Cranky. I like the his eyes, and he'd make a good friend for Teddy. Closed-eye Gang.
Kabuki! He moved into my mom's new leaf town and she wasn't a big fan -- neither was I. But when he finally asked to move out, I decided to invite him to my town since I was going through a Big Hero Six phase and he reminded me a bit of the movie. Much to my dismay, he decided to plop his house directly to the left of the cafe. But since it was new leaf and moving his house was not an option, I decided to embrace it and and created a bamboo forest around it and the cafe. I always imagined that he would go get coffee early in the morning and chat with Brewster. Seeing this somewhat spooky looking cat dancing around on Festival, wearing a silly New Years Eve hat, and learning that he was afraid of ghosts quickly made him my best friend in the game!
Once life in new horizons began, it didn't feel the same without him and I splurged on his amiibo card so he could join in on island life!
He has a bamboo forest once again, and hopefully soon he will be able to catch up with his pal Brewster.
I didn't dislike him but he seemed cool. People were super hyped about him and I didn't expect myself to hunt him down as I felt the chances were so low.
Then the trigger happened; I bumped into Judy. For some reason that kicked my butt into gear for going after Audie, who I liked from the start.
"Well I got these two, I should get Raymond just to say I had him for a time." It totally turned into a pride thing.
200 island hops later I got Sherb. Ok unexpected but adorable!
After 300 island hops I finally got Raymond. As time went on and I dressed him up he grew on me in a way that my Amiibo'd Marshall didn't.
Now after all the flack Raymond gets and the fanart comics about that he is my absolute #1 favorite villager and I'm never letting him go.
prince! but i think i'm also pretty biased towards lazy villagers (and i like frogs) so maybe i should have seen that coming lmao. and then there's snake who i didn't expect to like as much as i do now! same for fang- i originally thought my fav wolves would just be chief and dobie but i got unexpectedly attached lol
Stella and Chief quickly became my favourites after I invited them from mystery islands within the first two weeks of playing. I wasn't really fussed about who I invited in the early days of the game - so if a villager was cute and friendly, I invited them. Chief is ofc quite popular (as are most of the wolves) and I knew I'd love him straight away, but Stella is an underrated sweetheart of the sheep family!
For me it has been Ozzie and Bluebear. It wasn't until I really connected with them until they became two of my absolute favourite villagers. I also didn't think I would like Marina as I try to stay away from popular villagers as I like giving underappreciated villagers love, but I mean come on. What's not to love about Marina
My starters were Scoot and Ursala. While I have Scoot in my NL town, I didn’t interact with him much because I invited him through amiibo at the very end before NH came out. I’m glad he followed me to the island though because he’s become my favourite jock! I also never even knew of Ursala until NH and now she’s my favourite uchi In the same way, Jambette was the 3rd villager I invited through mystery island and now she’s my favourite normal. Basically I just got super attached to anyone who moved in hahaha. I definitely have some favourites due to nostalgia but I don’t think I’d ever move these villagers out.
Jacob! I watched nmt hunting vids of youtubers trying to find their dreamies and I saw multiple people pass up on this qt bird when they saw him. His face always seemed funny to me and made me laugh. I did some nmt island trips myself and found him, so I invited him over and I love everything about him. His dialogue is funny and only made funnier by his garbage household aesthetic.
I literally did it on a whim because everybody else refused him, but I turned out to love him!
I didn't know Sylvana existed until week 2 of New Horizons and I've been a fan since Wild World. (Guess I just never paid attention!) Found her on a mystery island and I was in shock about how cute she was. Squirrels are already one of my favourites in AC, and Sylvana is now top squirrel (sorry Agent S).
Also, Willow. I was looking for a snooty to fit in my town of all different species and different personalities and I came to adore her. She is so stinking cute and a darling as well. Love her!
I invited Ankha in because I didn't have her personality and she seemed beloved, and now I definitely understand why. Her constant frown with her appearance and dialogue is just adorable.
definitely genji! he was my starter jock and i was originally gonna kick him out and get rudy for my island's jock, but his design grew on me and now i love my rabbit boy ahh <33
i also got filbert in my original new leaf save before i lost it and loved him even though he was never a dreamie of mine. so of course he had to join my new horizons town! i really like his dreamy and cozy house interior, it adds so much personality
Never had Zucker prior to New Horizons but he quickly became a favourite. He suits the lazy personality so well and his dialogue/letters always makes me snort. I enjoy seeing him every day.
Sometimes I feel it’s a bit much when I see him doing something adorable, hide behind a tree, and try to take a good photo of him but y’know it’s whatever.
Katt/Goose were my starter villagers on one island, and Rod was one of my starters on my second island. I had always disliked those villagers but after having them on my islands they've quickly become favourites. Goose especially - I adore him! Buzz I wasn't even aware existed until I found him on a mystery island but as soon as I came across him I just had to invite him.
Claudia... I didn’t like the look of her in New Leaf but since finding her in New Horizons and seeing that her eyes have little stars in them and everything I love her so much now!
Pietro, I have to say when I came across him on my NMT island hopping I was a good 30 islands in and the excitement had quickly worn off. I spotted him there through the trees and I instantly recognised him as a character my friend who loves IT had wanted. I went for him now I'm in love. How he does the sad face but it can turn so easily to happy. So darned cute! I mean of course it will always be Bowie (Beau) as a top favourite but that wasn't the surprise Pietro was.
Agnes ! she is one of the 1st two villagers on my island beside Bam. I used to plan replace her later but when she decide to move out, i got my friend invite her and i invited her back to mine with new house and same memories and now she is one of my favs xD
