Some villagers have normal homely houses, but some have things like a cafe, a school or even a laundromat! I think that's so cute, they give a villager a new layer of backstory. What are your favourites?

I also wonder if people are deliberately using their "houses" on their islands to serve as more than a house. If people for example make signs, or for example make an outdoor area to accompany the cafe, or a playground near the school? Please show me if you're doing something like that, I'd love to see people actually incorporating those in the design of their islands.

I forget who had the cafe (I think a few villagers have a cafe?) but here's Leopold with his classroom/school house and Eunice in her laundromat. Both pictures come from nookipedia.com

I love both of those villagers, so I want them in my town anyway, but the fact that they come with such interesting houses makes them even more interesting to me c:

Are these really the way they look when you get them? Or did you have to slowly feed them pieces to make their houses like this?

Raddle's house is supposed to be a doctor's office, which is very topical considering the pandemic.

Also Cleo's house is supposed to be a dermatologist's office

I won't post images for them, but Raymond (obviously) and Eugene also have office-themed houses. Villagers with cafe-inspired houses include Marshal, Merengue, Sandy, and probably more.

it's the first time i'm seeing these houses (eunice, cleo & raddle's)!!! very interesting. in a good way. i liked houses like these even in past games.

audie’s house reminds me of a tropical resort/tropical bar or restaurant of sorts ;u;

Eugene’s place is a detective’s office. Rasher has a sort of car repair place. Gala’s is a bank. Tiffany’s home looks like a bar. Bones has a library as a home.

Hopkins has an arcade, from what I've seen on Nookipedia:

Image NOT mine, I got it off Nookipedia- I've been considering adding him but haven't done it yet 😝

In NL, Ursala had a florist shop- I was a little bummed to see she no longer does! BUT her actual house in this game is still lovely, and the exterior is fab, and I love her, so I forgive her ☺

Oh, and Cleo appears to be running some sort of internet start-up:

Image from Nookipedia again- I had her for awhile but didn't get a good house pic uploaded.
It seems kind of odd for her... but, I mean, you have to admire her. She's smart, fashionable, sophisticated, AND successful. She's a self-made woman (horse)!

I always feel bad for those villagers who live in an "unconventional" house with no bed! I remember when I designed villager houses in Happy Home Designer, even if they asked for a restaurant I would always give them a bed to sleep on. It just makes me sad for villager like Dobie who have cool houses but no place to rest their head at night 😔

I even tried to give Chester a bed multiple times but he never put it out!

Tiffany's house is an arcade and Mira's house is a theatre.

Oh, I really want Tiffany in my town, so this is really cool to see! And Mira's is great too.

Vesta has a cute little dry cleaning service, might look cute next to Eunice’s coin laundry!

Wow, you're right! Dry cleaning or even a seamstress I'd say. That would be very cute to have them living next to each other, and be friends.
